I fix stuff. The channel is mainly about repairing and servicing cars and motorbikes but I will post anything that interests me, including baking bread and stuff related to scuba diving. I’ve always been curious about how things work and I’ve been repairing cars since I was a child helping my dad. Now I’m retired but I’m still getting my hands dirty. CZcams has helped me a lot to learn about new things. This is my way of giving back.
App IOS install using Apple's Free Provisioning
Free provisioning is for development only not permanent install. You can only install on your registered devices, the bundle and app name must be unique and the install times out after a week.
I've been venturing into writing a cross platform app using Visual Studio 2022. Installing on to Windows or Android is really easy but for IOS devices Apple makes it quite difficult if you don't join their App Developer programme.
To install on to an IOS device for debugging you need an Apple Mac as a host and use a system called Free Provisioning. This video shows the process and describes the limitations doing the install this way.

Shot lines - shortening and joining into the line
zhlédnutí 197Před 11 měsíci
Shot lines are widely used to mark a dive location and act as a guide for divers to descend and ascend. They also provide important support for decompression dives where reserve gas or a decompression trapeze needs to be set up and joined to the shot line. Another use is where a distance line is being used to enable the divers to return to the shot at the end of the dive.

put it on usb flash drive not working must have done it wrong can you tell me how its done thanks
Check your firmware version compared to the update file to make sure the update is newer. Make sure there is only one update file on the usb at a time. Plug it into the usb port in the console and start the engine. It should start the update automatically as I showed in the video.

I don’t understand the final part of your question.
Is fuse 23 coming from the same relay as the 12v power outlets? Did you find any other live switched fuses?
There’s plenty of other switched supplies. The fuse I used was convenient and the right type and size for the adapter I had. That fuse box has three different types of fuses. To find a switched feed or even a battery feed I used a volt meter and probed the top of each fuse. F23 is the delayed accessory power. Pretty sure that will be ignition switched.
@NigelEaland I think 23 is ignition switched but connected to the 12v outlets already in the car. I can't use these as the wiring is fried somewhere after the relay, so need a different feed.
@@jamesredfern999 actually I think that fuse gets volts with doors unlocked. I’m afraid I don’t know the answer. Loss of power is most likely a dead relay or blown fuse rather than fried wiring. Good luck.
I would need the power supply to be functional even after the vehicle is locked, in order to monitor data from the GPS, is it the same fuse? Thank you
No the fuse I used power comes on with ignition. Use F2 or F3 micro fuses which seem to permanent power. fuse-box.info/ford/ford-mondeo-mk5-2015-2019-fuses-and-relays#google_vignette
@@NigelEalandThank you for the information, it will probably require removing half of the deck, there is an extremely bad approach. 😬
Does anyone know the socket size needed for the fuel filter housing
Thanks for the instructions. Properly done, unlike the infos provided. The issue I'm having that's stopping me from finishing up is the fact that the long screw seems to be too big and won't fit the hole. I can see that, for you, it went in easy peasy.
My recollection while filming that job was that I had to redo part of the install where I’d used the wrong screws and washers. We had to work slowly reading the instructions over and over again to get it right. Good luck and thanks for watching.
@@NigelEaland It was my fault in the end, I didn't notice the correct hole. But all sorted. I even managed to get the spring first try using a long and very thin screwdriver. Cheers, sir! All the best
@@colesthelol well done, particularly the spring as that was hard.
Great video Nigel what seat do you have on your bike as i am getting same model bike but the seat doesn't look as nice as yours? I love the K series bikes had quite alot of them and easy to maintain and cheap to buy parts for compared to the modern ones.
It’s just a stock seat as far as I know.
hotdemmit, the part I need.. how to fiddle the cover back over it after installing the spring got skipped :D cheers anyway btw, I didnt remove the center console, just the gear knob and the leather was enough to reach everywhere. might save some time.
Is it the same process on a petrol engine?
I believe it is similar but not necessarily the same. Check out this link workshop-manuals.com/ford/Mondeo_2007.5_02.2007/fullindex/
great video, thanks you for good quality content
Great stuff, but would have definitely used 'Copperslip' on some of the pivot points, my CB500x stand became extremely stiff dur to corrosion of the main pivot pin.
you dont need to remove any plastic covers to drain oil, there is a service port hole in the plastic
Thanks heaps this was very helpful
You, Sir, have just provided the answer to my problem again. After trying and swearing at my car for over an hour, I watched your video and saw how you got the actuator back into the door, and yes, it worked! Thank you so much for this video.

Thanks for useful video in my case the inside locking pins it moving but very little do I have to change the whole electrical module or what
Hello! Thanks for sharing it with us. It turns out we got to pay for everything with Apple. And that sucks. I wanted to deploy an app for my colleague and problems began when he said he has an iPhone... That's not a problem, thought I. But after couple of weeks, trying to understand why I cannot debug and deploy iOS apps I give up. Thanks to you, I realised there's no way to do it without paying 99 USD / year, but let's be honest - for 1 app, because most likely I will not use it again what makes whole project really expensive... Have you guys tried to use Apple Developer Membership? Does it work normally? (Like deploying on the Android) Or you had to struggle with unexpected actions again?
Apple is a pain. I think the $99 is outrageous. Free provisioning only last a week and the app stops working. I’m in the same position I just want to be able to share my app with friends, I don’t want any money. Fortunately I have acquired Apple Developer membership through an organisation I belong to and avoided the fee. Perhaps the next video will be my experience of the options available of uploading through the scheme. I not sure if this is another option. This link was sent to me and I haven’t researched it. www.theverge.com/24100464/altstore-pal-dma-eu-launch-delta-nintendo-emulator-clip-clipboard-manager
@@NigelEaland Thanks again! I'll check it out. And I'd be really grateful for showing us what can you do as a member of Apple Developer program.

Great and thank you very much to show us all this. I watched all you videos of all your K's. If you service anything else.... would you mind... filming this again? 🙂 Greetings from Holland. I'v got a K1100RS so warn me than if anything is a bit essential different. 🙂

While doing the hub nut up the drum must be turned a minimum of 10 rotations anti clockwise and the nut done up in stages to 235nm torque. You will trash the bearing doing it the way you did. You didn't clean the backing plate, put no grease on contact points where the shoes move and the cleaning in general was piss poor...
Next time, please wetsand the headlights, the water is reducing the heat created by the sanding, and also lifts the damaged plastic. Also, you have to protect the headlights after sanding, at least you should use a polish paste or liquid with UV protection. If not, the headlights will be faded again in 6 month.
you just saved me at least $200!!!
Does this stand eat up any useful road clearance?
I’m with the guy that owns that bike and he says no.
Very well described, helped me a lot - thank you from germany 👍
Voip Is it a standard service or do i have to pay for it? If i am internet only will it work ?
A land line is part of my package. Since they are doing away with copper wire support O2 gave me this adapter. You need to ask the supplier to turn on the service.
Hi thanks alot for the video, very helpful indeed, which engine oil did you use, was it 15W50? I'd very much appreciate it for any information :)
Go to Motobins and look up . www.motobins.co.uk/
Actually, you don’t have to remove the protect cover if only changing oil and filter. Good video!
Hi Nigel, you deserve a medal. I was really stressing out as all of the other videos are made to look easy. I have virtually the same system with a spaghetti juction going on with the wiring as they were all the same colours unfortunately for me. You really helped me out after i was pulling my hair out! Kudos to you! Thanks!
Great video again and thanks again from the Netherlands. 🙂
Yes a great video!! 🙂 Thank you very much from the Netherlands. And yes for me too an encouragement to maintain my bike too. 🙂 I do own a K1100RS from 1993.
half a day I was wondering how to install the spring, luckily I came across this video
Hello nice video, but in my experience i would not recommend using that kind of carjack or axlestand in that spot. I did in the past and it damaged(bend) the car there. So it also becomes risky. There are stronger points underneath the car usually around the wishbone that are a lot safer to do that. I would also definitely not recommend putting that much force on the drainplug by using an extension, you're likely to damage the thread and need an oil pan replacement. Also i thought that the oilfilter on the 1.6 is in a very difficult position in the back of the engine above the steering rack. This looks like a 1.4, but it might be a different 1.6 engine. Regards
Not a lot of help, you did not show how to get the battery out past the 2 plastic locking lugs!
This was gold. Thank you for the video 👍
Hi Nigel, I was told by a BMW mechanic not to bleed the ABS module. I bleed the ABS module ii on my 95 K1100LT, and now I have a plunger fail. Have bleed the brakes 3 times since and still get the error code plunger fail test. Can reset the ABS no problem but when you get to 10kmh the ABS is suppose to do its self test, clunk test I call it, but mine fails. The get the alternate ABS flashing lights. Brakes work fine, but no ABS unfortunately.
Brilliant video 😎 very well videoed Gonna use this for servicing my 2004 1.6 three door 👌👌
Thanks for this very handy video. Would you know how to replace the ABS Relay switch by any chance?

Thanks again. Cheers :)
@@JohnFrancois-ti4wh I have total sympathy with you. After failing to resolve a braking issue my bike has been in the shop for 4 weeks trying to diagnose a binding front brake. After much diagnosis and rebuilds of callipers and master cylinder the ABS2 has been declared faulty. You can’t get new replacements but there are places you can get the control boards repaired. My understanding is that ABS1 and 2 reset in different ways. There is talk of looking for corrosion on connector pins. These links may help you. bmwk10075abs1fix.web.fc2.com/ bmwk10075abs1fix.web.fc2.com/ABS2-repair1.html Unfortunately I’m having an ABS bypass kit fitted and I’m thinking it’s time to replace the bike.
