It has already been more than a decade, but I still consider the "Tailored sheets" opening of this song to be the most crucial part of being Emarosa's frontman. Tilian more or less has the power and the range even though he can't do it quite like Jonny. Bradley, on the other hand, could nail Jonny Craig's tone, but he can't pull off Jonny's range.

Tilian is fantastic, just can't get that same tone as Craig on the iconic "tailored sheets" line. It wasn't awful, by any means. He did great with the rest of the song.

people are complaining about his singing style but he's just trying to imitate Jonny to keep the crowd happy. If you listen to how he sings Jonnys stuff in DGD live he does it in his own way.

annoys me that he ditched the gritty/raspy sound when he joined DGD. he's one of the few singers who could come close to Jonny in that regard
coldjeanz He said in an interview that he did less rasp and grit in Acceptance Speech because Jon pretty much had it covered. He brought some of it back in Instant Gratification though. Maybe he'll go all out in DGD8?

there is totally plenty of rasp in acceptance speech it's just the way it's mixed, how people don't notice is a mystery to me.
Having Tilian join Dance Gavin Dance I think was the straw that broke poor Emarosa's back. They're still good, but Jonas and Lukas just left......And now Emarosa is just a 4 piece. Probably have to wait another 3 years for another full length CD.... :'(
Derek Hollingshead Maybe not. They've released a few pictures of themselves in the studio on their Instagram. It's entirely possible that we'll be getting another release late this year, or early next year.
Tilian is probably the best JC replacement you can find.

Anthony Green would be sick too. But Tilian distorts his voice in a similar way to JC and is a better singer overall imo. Anthony Green is awesome too but his technique isn't as good.

Tilian has a soft and very high vocal range, while Jonny has more power and vibrato to his that I'm pretty sure everyone would kill for. Tilian did great for his first night, you've got to give the guy some credit. I mean sure it's hard to hit Jonny's high singing notes but Tilain did his best and nailed most of them in his own way while still giving the soul and R&B style to it.
Didn't expect much. Being asked to fill in for Jonny Craig is like being asked to walk on water for Jesus.
