Where did you place the floor jack under the vehicle?
@@brandonc.6500 under the oil pan with a 2x6 to disperse the load over the whole width of the oil pan so I didn’t crush.
@@shawnkmorse thank you for the reply! Video helped to understand the job tremendously.
@@brandonc.6500 you are welcome, thanks for watching!
@@shawnkmorse one more thing... what is the coolant filling procedure on these engines or what did you do when you refilled with coolant? My 3.0 v6 Terrain doesn't have a radiator cap, the manual only mentions the surge tank. No mentions of burping or bleeding of air either.
@@brandonc.6500 I just let it idle and kept the tank topped off.
What brand water pump did you get? Does it matter?
@@darrenfields2462 whatever was cheapest at any of the local parts stores.
@shawnkmorse ok thanks for reaching back.
Nice work. Gotta do wifes 2012. Is there a weephole? I think thats where hers is leaking. hard to see
Yep, very hard to see. Thanks for watching!
Also, the pipes eco-boost pipes on the left you can kind of just move them out of the way cause it’s just a bitch to get them on and off
I’ve done this four or five times this job can seem overwhelming, but it’s not once you get into it. It’s good use cardboard to put all your bolts in the cardboard. You can draw a map and place all your bolts on your map made my life easy the newer clips come off easy. Did anybody notice that?

How many hours did you actually put in this job?
@@coryfreeman398 probably about 12 total. I had never done this before and at the time, there weren’t that many helpful videos about doing this job.
Where did you buy the parts online or a parts store?
@@Anthrax_G_ at the time, the local Napa store
was that a bunch of rust build up in the top right corner of the griddle?
Yes
You don’t deserve a black stone if you let it get like that you should donate it to someone who will respect it
What's normally the recommended miles to replace the timing chain, I have the 3.5 with 83,000 miles on it?
This truck had over 400,000 miles on it before the chain started making noise. But I’ve seen some that needed changing around 125k
I have a 2013 ford f-150, upon replacing the timing chain, is it necessary or recommended to replace the cam phasers?
It’s not necessary, but more than likely they will fail sooner than later
Ponganlo en español
Should use Ultra Gray
looks like this lift wasn't looked after well. These lifts are pretty basic and last a long time
The air line rusted through in the ground
You need to buy the replacement carburetor with a high speed adjustment screw, the one you installed does not and the engine bogs down when you pull the accelerator. I had the same problem and found one on Amazon with the high speed adjustment and now snap throttle responds no delay.
Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into it.
Which one on Amazon
Nah that shit get your ass sick 🤢
The fuck?
I know, right?
You can't get all 3 from bottom u need to remove what you remove good video
I have a '18 ecoboost and the phasers are going and it makes a horrible rattle noise when you start it up. Just got it from the dealer a month ago and they wont fix it (taking them to court now) so im trying to see how bad of a job it is, after wztching this... helllllllll no 😅
Did you end up winning the case?
There is no need to take the phasers off to replace the timing chain all you have to do is pull the intake phaser solenoids and the chain comes right off... I just finished mine up the other day and more importantly new bolts must be used when the phasers are removed it appears you reused the old bolts... Of course I changed the phasers while I was in there but I didn't pull them off until after the chain was off
mines a tank as well but there is alot of metal peices in the oil but still runs fine
…. lol, that must’ve sounded bad enough to sell them a new car or engine lol… One way or another that water pump was coming off that engine 😬👍
I had a harmonic balancer do the same thing
Better to change the bulbs and polish that lenses first much cheaper
The reflective material inside the housings dulled out. Cannot access inside the housings for repair.
Why does it take about 8 hours to pull everything out and another 20 hours to install everything correctly; sounds about right! Will it Run just as good as a New Vehicle? So many components to be reinstalled and hopefully nothing leaks after the RTV is applied! You would think Ford would re-engineer a more easier engine than the present one! After everything is done a Road Test is Required that all the systems are operating correctly! Way to go FORD!
That timeframe is about right. Yes. It will run like new
And even after all that the check engine still won’t tell you when the oil pressure drops
Hey Bailey Creek! THANK YOU!! i'm currently working on this on my fathers mower for a gift as he is out of town. This will make the project go much more smoothly!
this is locked into fully retarded mode.
I thought I could get mine done in a weekend after doing 2 different water pumps on nearly identical 3.5L explorer and Taurus’ - of course nothing went right, couple trips to town and here I am about to work on it again the next weekend 😂
It was a frantic race to get everything done in the weekend
Looks like north shore LA.
What brand of timing chain did use and cam phasers?
Motorcraft
Did you use something to hold the cams?
Yes, the cam retaining tool from Matco
Why is your blinker so fuckin loud?
Chevy makes them that way so old people can hear them

dont check the oil in the new one either
The original installer bypassed the low oil control switch and yes, it’s obvious that this customer never checked the oil.
Little duct tape and she’ll be good as new.
