Awesome settings! I had followed someone else's video on GTAV graphics settings and they didn't look this good or perform nearly as good. plus I had frequent crashing. a few of the bigger differences are MXAA was on, Anisotropic filtering was only x4

Please let me know if someone knows how to enable ‘melee alternate’ in handheld mode.

How did you handle arrow swapping given the triggers?

I know this is an old video, but have you tried any mods? I've seen some folks that have modded it successfully and were able to get native resolution and other stuff working.

The Oled runs it at 60fps

Folks with the Steam Deck OLED: Set HDR Max Luminance to 1000 (that's max nits for the OLED panel) and HDR Paper White seems to only affect menus, so set that to its minimum.

The memory leak bug in GTA V literally makes all of this pointless since the game just isn't playable for very long on systems with less than 32GB of ram. And it is a memory leak, idgaf what bullshit people say. When an application rapidly devours memory until it fucking crashes itself or the system that is a memory leak. Period.

Fallout will never reach more than 60fps on the steam deck

Is the HDR Max Luminance supposed to be set to 1000 nits? That's the peak brightness of the Steam Deck OLED screen.

Worked for me just take off the %command% after you change graphics settimgs so it doesnt crash on keypad prompt. And if you want to chamge the graphics again put the command again.

I bought the game on steam for PC and I'm out of options. The launcher comes up, but the game itself won't launch. So lame.

bought this game a couple days ago. not launching on steamdeck at all. tried proton experimental along with v9, 8, 7, 6 but game wouldnt launch. any suggestions pls?

I tried to block the update and it still came through. I used to get 4+ hours of battery playing this on OLED Deck and now I can’t even get 2. What the heck did they do? Edit: duh this video was the clue. Using the command to bring back the launcher o see that Bethesda has defaulted the Deck settings to Ultra on almost everything. Taking the settings down a notch to mixed high and medium, and turning godrays off brings back 4+ hours of battery and the game looks almost exactly the same.

On PC this game runs at half my monitor's refresh rate. If ANYONE knows why or how to fix it, please do tell

Frog detective is not good. It's a game for children. There's no detective work. It's linear. The art is very simple. Basically a story book for children. If you got kids, great. If you don't, don't.

Ur the realest my guy. You also fixed another bug for me I was experiencing. Before any of your changes I could not rename weapons (skill book dupe glitch) after your changes the auto keyboard function for renaming no longer happens and now you can actually rename weapons again.

Alternatively if you don’t want to make the text file… instead you can simply add this following launch option to the game: DXVK_CONFIG=“dxgi.syncInterval=1” to fix the frame rate capping issue and then follow that by adding the SteamDeck=0 %command% if you want the launcher back so you can utilize your custom graphical settings.

And I feel like it has forced settings to ultra. Frames are all over the place.

If you set the %command% launch option and tweak it… then remove that launch option… it reverts the settings. So if you use this don’t expect to be able to remove it and keep your graphical tweaks. The downside to this is that using this launch option will crash the game if you have to open the on screen keyboard.

Before the update, the game wasn't crashing for me. Now it's crashing CONSTANTLY.

For some reason without Steam deck=0 %command% the fix doesn't work for me. With it though it runs just like it did before the update, thank you! Wish Bethesda would just leave things alone if they can't put any effort in

🚨 IMPORTANT 🚨 SteamDeck=0 will crash the game when you bring up the keyboard. If you are starting a new character, create that character, type any console commands you'd like (ie. fov_85), save and quit, and then follow this tutorial. You can edit your graphics settings from there. From this point, if you remove SteamDeck=0, it will *reset your graphics settings.* I do not know how to have custom graphics settings and an accessible keyboard at the same time. Damn, Bethesda. I will report back if I find a solution. Thank you @jeffrogers1025 @stevesquick92 Also, my graphics settings are now in the description.

THANK YOU! It fixed both of the problems, no longer having the launcher to test is there were graphic changes was really bugging me out. I didn’t know about the fps problem, i played in 90 fps because 60 fps felt unplayable, but now 60 fps is super smooth.

More impressed with how fast you type with two sticks than anything else. 😅
