Thanks! I would say the Honda CRF lineup is pretty good. My reason is because they are super easy to work on, there’s an abundance of oem and aftermarket parts and I’d say they’re pretty reliable. I’ve rebuilt a number of these bikes and they can take a beating. I also think they handle very well and feel the lightest. They don’t have the quietest engines but they run really good. I’ve always heard Suzukis having tranny issues and Suzukis are the only bikes. Or without electric start. Yamahas have a great engine too but have an extra valve to worry about…drives the cost up a little more. Kawis are nice bikes too but have a pretty noisy engine in my opinion and oem parts are pretty pricey. I also really love KTM. Very well built and reliable. But they are very expensive and OEM parts are expensive.

Wow! That's some answer :) I am glad you mentioned KTM. They get a demonized for being unreliable by most riders. I ride street bikes for couple years now, and I am considering to give it a shot with an MX bike. I am Hesitant between YZ125 / YZ250F / SX125 / SX-F 250 (I would buy brand new) I like the Yamaha most but I may get a very good deal on new KTM since I work in company that has a partnership with KTM (same goes with parts, I can get them cheaper and I live in Europe so they are easily available). I actually like the SX125 most but I have seen some horror stories online about bike breaking down after literally couple of hours on it. What would be your recommendation mate? @@motion_mx

They do come pretty clean and yes I did. It’s best to wash in soapy water and then blow out with an air compressor.

Cerakote is tougher and more scratch resistant for sure. But like any coating it’ll of course show wear over time. Cerakote is a very thin coating … powder coat is thick and can mess with clearances between parts. I always found myself shaving off powder coat in certain areas of parts to make things fit right.

Thank you. It depends if you want kick start or e-start. Honestly kick start is more reliable during a race but e-start is convenient. I would keep stock bore, stock crank, upgrade cams, JD jet kit, get the head ported and you’ll have a solid reliable quad. We went over board with big bore and stroker lol

Well Kawis naturally are noisy and have tick. But in person it was a lot louder than on camera. I heard it an knew right away the tick sound was too loud

do you have any idea what would cause white smoking coming from my piston block i put coolant in it let it run for 5 seconds then i heard a tick and sizzling noise from the piston so i shut it off imediatly and the smoke was still coming out from the block i stuck a camera in the intake and it was just smoke im not sure if this was a coolant leak and i would have no idea what it came from because i had my valves done and shimmmed from the shop but i brought it today to be done any idea?@@motion_mx

Thank you! So I mix 18ml of cerakote to 1 ml hardner. That does get me one cover with a tiny bit left over. I mix the same amount for the stator side and that leaves a little more excess….enough for some other things you can spray

V and C series do not have a catalyst to add. Obviously they still need shaken well. The down side to those are C series takes 5 days to cure, V series takes 1 hr at 500 degrees to cure.

They also still require a strainer

@@OFFROADBANDITS I am not a mechanic at all. Just started working on my bike because the rod broke but from what I've read and looked into a small tiny bit that could be a vehicle down sensor I think there was a a couple years where it was a common malfunction wont hurt to look into. For all anyone wanting to get mad I am just offering a possibility and in no way think this is the only reason it happens.

@hotboxclipz on my 2011, it's halfway up the middle of the radiators directly in front of the outlet of the gas pump. And like 6 or 7 inches up from the start of the exhaust header. It's held to a piece of the from with rubber
