Dyfed/Powys Police at their finest - Bikers stopped for going too slow!

A funny take on being stopped by Dyfed/Powys Police for going too slow on our motorbikes! This is where the power of CZcams comes in to expose this waste of Police resources, surely in 2024 (OK this happened in 2023) the Police have got better things to be doing? Just one point to answer a few comments, the camera is fitted to my mirror, I’m not holding it! I don’t think it’d be possible to rid...

poor soul has probably got targets to hit and you were an easy pull, I don't think he was having a good day and you probably didn't make it any better. the length of stop say's to me that he was desperately looking for a legitimate fault and couldn't find one so tried to make the number plate thing stick. reminds me of when a mate was stopped in Carmarthen by a trainee p.c. (while on a 100cc bike) and was told that it "sounded" like he was going too fast.
Love that😂😂
love the vintage pics form many moons ago!
It’s amazing how quickly they date!
apologies, on behalf of Wales, sorry you had a bad trip butty
helllllloooo ello ello, whats all this then, your facking nicked mate!
You both had the patience of the saints!!!! What an absolute joke!!! Sorry you both had to deal with that.
Thanks Kate, as you say was all a bit silly.
What is it with UK police, they're really losing the grip on reality, go and do some real police work instead of wasting tax payers money stopping innocent bikers absolutely ridiculous, and starting about your visors, shows he is bike racist,
Thank you so much for putting in the effort to make this vid. It’s absolutely typical, Welsh coppers vs English bikers. They hate us and prove it on a regular basis. I’m sure most of us watching this have experienced similar. The stats for serious injury are quite high, but like pro boxers, rock climbers…. It’s our choice to take the risks involved and we don’t need the Welsh cops making things a miserable as they possibly can for us. Most of us are getting on a bit and rarely take stupid chances on our machines. So WPC’s….. cut us some slack.
Thanks for your comment and it’s so true. Most bikers are responsible, we know the risks and we do everything possible to mitigate the risks as best we can. Yes we do cross the line occasionally, but we are generally way more aware of what we’re doing than the average car driver. A few people do let the side down but that’s the same with anything. Ride safe👍
Just because a visor is used in moto gp it doesn't give it a ece homologation which makes it illegal to use on the road
Yep totally agree, but he was trying to argue the safety point which is a nonsense. You cannot say that the same visors they use in MotoGP are at more risk of a stone going through them. I guess it’s the law vs the reality.
All I was saying a motogp visor isn't legal on the road
Sure, agree with what you’re saying👍
should have named and shamed him.
This sort of thing is quite common in North Wales from what I hear.
You know the visor thing about letting in 50% light. I have found it so hard to know if the googles on websites are legal for the road as not many manufactures state info. I typically wear mx helmets and goggles. But I am looking for some goggles that provide some sun shading and are somewhat 'legal' on the road.
P.O.L.I.C.E. ... People Of Limited Intelligence Creating Enemies
Have any of you checked this bike, how many kilometers you drive with a full tank?
I didn’t get the chance to check the range sadly, am sure someone will be able to comment.
Slightly frustrating vid, couldn't tell what you were saying properly. Did you not film the hincident? Were the tractors going in the same or opposite direction ? He said you stopped, you said you were slowing down. An excuse to harass bikers. Cop looked so silly leaning to the side, with a small mouth and a fat face. If the DVLA didn't reply does that mean that you wern't fined? 13:00 "we did have receive an apology" does that mean that you received an apology ? That's not like the rozzers.
Yes agreed, the footage wasn’t the best sadly…I wasn’t really expecting this to happen! No fine, we never heard a thing from the dvla. We did get an apology from Dyfed Powys Police for the way he initially spoke too us, again sadly I didn’t have that on camera either. I only put the camera on when I realised it wasn’t going to end well.
Criminal police
You should have asked him what the minimum speed limit was and then asked him what speed you were going. Of course he couldn't say😅.
As a fellow female rider, nice to hear kates review of this bike. How are you finding it 7 months on? Ive currently got a vfr 400 nc30 and would like to get some thing a bit newer but with similar power. Would a zx4rr be the ticket? Is the bike more comfortable than the old 90s 400s?
Thanks for the comment. Amazingly the bike is still being run in! Due to the poor weather and now Kate has hurt her back so riding has been a bit limited. I’ve been doing the running in for her, we’re just able to start opening it up. I’ve ridden a few of the 90s 400 sportsbikes so yes I think this would be a great replacement. I think it’s a bit more comfortable and the modern electronics (blipper etc) make it a lot easier to ride. It needs revving for sure, the power comes in quite high in the rev range. Once it’s run in will def do a better review, also want to do a back to back comparison with an RVF400👍 Get yourself a test ride on one, be interesting to see what you think.
Probably bullied at school
I live in Mid Wales dude, dropped you a sub. These lot are dull as shit mate and I don't mean the sheep!
Surprised the arrogant prick did not want to check the colour of your socks.
I once had a copper pull me over whilst cycling home at night, for simply looking back at his car whilst in front (I didn’t even realise it was a police car as I could only see his headlights on the dimly-lit street). He said I looked “suspicious”. I asked him what his suspicion was and he couldn’t even answer the question! Meanwhile there were a group of youths doing drugs in a park we both passed, but he was too busy with the suspicious looking cyclist exercising road awareness to notice!
Built in Triumph's factory in Thailand. Only Indian bikes built in India- with slightly less spec.
Ok, that makes sense👍 Thanks.
Traffic cop no one likes them, not even other police!
Pmsl youve just met the male version of karen omg what hope we got with these kind of idiots in our police force Colombo eat your heart out .
Would have taken far less time if you'd have just answered his questions instead of being an adversarial twat
Nice, Mr keyboard warrior. Not quite that simple, bad attitude from the policeman gets a bad attitude back. I’m not bowing down to stupidity! But if you think this is good use of police time then fair enough. It should have been a 2 minute stop.
You didn't help matters with your attitude, but it wasn't a legal stop.
Pigs, filth...and a few tractors
total bellend
Unreal What is the Minimum speed limit on the road you were travelling on ? One would presume its walking pace so anyone walking would also be fined. If it was a Motorway you would understand but in the countryside where nothing passed you but a Jeep and Tractors . What an Idiot of a police officer . I wonder should he be put on a traffic awareness course.
I bought a new car and wanted to see how fuel efficient it was so one night after a 12 hour shift and with a 5 hour drive home at 3am I decided to just put it into 6th gear and coast down an empty dual carriageway doing about 40mph at low rpm. I got pulled over by the police for going suspiciously slow. I explained that I wasn't in a rush to get anywhere and wanted to see what mpg I could get. He asked me how much and so I said 75mpg to which he just said 'Oh nice' and he just left.
It’s only Britain that is so anal about number plates, and that’s because they need to make money of them in fines through PNCR cameras, also ref the farm trailers I believe being agricultural they are exempt of No plates as they are classed as plant vehicles and most famers are driving vehicles the size of Class 1 without taking a test.
I can understand you both being frustrated and upset but your attitude with the police officer didn't help your cause..
He was simply harrassing you, it happened to us twice in Wales. They just stop you and then go on a data collecting exercise. I have been all over the UK and Europe and it has never happened anywhere else.
This is what happens when small people get positions of power, what a 🔔
He has got serious personality issues.
I've had some interactions with Welsh police as soon as they find out I'm english they went over my bike with gusto!!! Never found anything didn't do anything, but their attitude was well undeserved. I don't ride into Wales, which now happens to many times anti biker
I think the policeman is a bellend HOWEVER if your number plate is smaller than legal, then suck it up and accept you got what was coming. Why should two people on nice new bikes from London or wherever get away with something that the police do people for regularly in that neck of the woods. Normally scrambler riders. Just because you are older, and a bit posher doesn’t mean you should get away with something that the locals don’t. If you did then the police wouldn’t be applying the law fairly and equally. All this video shows is how entitled you are.
Never been described as posh before👍 We live in Wales, very near to where this incident happened…so we might not be Welsh but we are locals. The size of the number plates was never mentioned, only the kite mark and makers postcode. And we didn’t get “done”…we never heard a thing following the stop.
Some of you should consider how Police in other countries are ours by comparison are ok
Totally agree with that, but we shouldn’t be measuring our Police by the standard set in other countries…surely we deserve better. They do a lot of good things and have to deal with nasty stuff, but not in this instance.
Erm is that driving without due care and attention officer not paying attention to tractors put in a complaint and a civil case towards the officer unlawful detainment as the stop could be lawful but the remaining detainment could be deemed unlawful etc also dispute the fine completely
What did you mean regarding picking on minorities?
Motorcyclists make up a minority of road users.
@@mattbikes46 - And you believe that's the reason he stopped you?
I believe he stopped us because we were motorcyclists…yes. It’s also my belief it was a plain and simple fishing trip.
You have to feel sorry for police like this, they're quite sad and lonely individuals on a power trip. Should get into that job to make peoples lives better not more difficult.
Altough not a good encounter I would suggest you did little to make the encounter run smoothly -
I wouldn’t disagree 👍 the guy set his stall out in the first 20 seconds of talking to him so it was clear he was on a fishing trip and was going to be difficult. So I could have got angry, but not much point in that so may as well have some fun with him and the stupidity of the situation. It should have been a short civil conversation but sadly he decided otherwise.
I have nothing to say "would you like me yo write down nptbing to say" copper wasnt wvery second he can
Rat
Ive experienced the same moronic attitude in wales.
What a fine example of a complete power tripping waste of space! I can't think why people hate such police officers! Thankfully, they're not all like this specimen!
but i also agree that he should never of stopped you in the first place.
the reason it took him 30 minutes is because you were being an idiot he asked for your driving license and you refused because he had already seen it well if you just gave it to him it wouldn't of taken as long and you keep diverting his question or not answering them directly.
Partly true, but it shouldn’t have even got to the point it did. Once he realised we were a couple of old gits on bikes that weren’t nicked it should have been the end of it. He spoke to us with a complete lack of respect so sure I made it difficult for him, reap what you sow and all that👍
Anti English…..plain and simple.
Another prat that got picked on at school.
