The Brazilian world-class percussionist, educator and former Cirque du Soleil artist Renato Martins is described as an innovator of Brazilian percussion and is considered one of the most internationally respected percussionists in the world. Renato Martins continuously creates new techniques for traditional instruments such as the Udu and the Cajon. He sees all objects as potential instruments and has also been known to use entire sets of kitchen utensils in his exploration of sound. Anything he finds that produces sound has been hit, plucked, struck, shaken and scratched in his pursuit of musical reinvention.

Common roots, the same way of dialogue in music, and a desire to explore new possibilities, this is what characterizes the duo Renato Martins-Pierre Gillet. Vibrating wood and strings, they use their acoustic guitar, cajon and udu (ceramic percussion instrument of African origin) to present Brazilian musical themes or jazz standards.

@@tomsgig-taxi5577 thanks bro! I use the boss rc300 loop station. And the device there it's the Bose T1 mixer with 3 mics that I send to the looper
@@RenatoMartinsPercussionist Hey Renato! Thanks for answering. I also own a BOSS RC-300 and I used a mixer to be able to have more mics than but one, and a little EQ before recording, but the sound coming from the RC300 was very poor. Your sound is very clear and so close to what comes from the PA. One day I will try to do the same with another mixer but the Roland Edirol M-16DX. Or do you have any idea about the poor sound? I tend to selling the RC300 and get an RC600, likely
@@tomsgig-taxi5577 no problem my friend! It's nice to be in touch! Looping is a tricky thing. The poor sound can come from many reasons. It would be nice if you could send me a video in the action. The Edirol seems to be a good device and the rc300 does the job well. I'll be happy to give you my opinion if you send me some tracks. But keep the groove going 🙌

Hey Renato, I first watched this video about 8 years ago and it has always stood out to me as one of the most interesting and unique solo percussion performances I've ever seen. Whenever I drum on something with my hands, this is the first beat I play. Can I ask you what the inspiration was for the vocals in this performance? To me, it sounds like it is a child's perception of an adult giving them advice they don't really understand after they've done something foolish. Or perhaps a child listening to adults talking and not understanding anything; just hearing them make mysterious sounds at each other.

I play percussion for a while but without any teacher. Besides that I am a recording-studio owner and producer, so I am also always looking for people to cooperate with.
