The K line will be reconfigured after the Transit Center and Aviation stations open. The K line will take over the Southern section of the C line. There are plans to extend the platforms on the 4 stations in the Southern section so they can accept 3 car trains. And the C line, in turn, will go North now and connect to the Transit Center Station and the LAX People Mover. So both the K and C line will connect to the Transit Center station and the LAX People Mover.

Most OC buses at this station run roughly every 30 minutes, but I recommend checking out the octa.net website for specific routes

I've seen them relatively common on route 50, maybe 25% of those buses are electric, but the others seem to be all gas

The reality is that it isn't worth it unless fares are enforced and law enforcement is staffed appropriately. If status quo conditions are preserved, an improved metro would mostly serve to make it easier for the riff raff to access more parts of the city. Probably a net negative for most normal citizens.

Funny to compare it to Chicago which has absolutely terrible service on its lines right now with headways of 30-60 minutes not uncommon. But yeah, crazy that LA has this garbage level of transit service

Well, first of all, Chicago's Metro is about 80 years old. LA Metro is around 34 years old. LA Metro has built 110 miles of track and 101 stations in those 34 years, more than any other US city including Chicago. And, no, LA doesn't have trolly lines. We have hybrid light-rail lines which are not the same. By hybrid I mean they have more in common with heavy rail subway than a trolly/streetcar. In LA the light-rail lines run on dedicated ROWs and all the lines are at least partially grade separated. Some are significantly grade separated and one is fully grade separated. They have a combination of at-grade, subterranean, and aerial stations. In fact, the 3 newest stations are underground and are shared by two of the lines. The top speed of the light-rail lines is 55 mph. Our two subway lines have a top speed of 65 mph by comparison so not that slow at all. The LA Metro will continue to expand for the foreseeable future, and more than likely surpass Chicago in about 12 years. Several projects are under construction and a new project will open every year for the next four years including a LA Metro connection to the LAX airport via an automated people mover. Two of our light-rail lines are being expanded as is one of our heavy rail subway lines. Construction will also begin on two brand new light-rail lines in a couple of years as well as an expansion of yet another existing light-rail line. And our Union Station is getting a huge expansion that will include pass-through tracks for the first time increasing capacity by 60%, and getting it ready for the CAHSR. Finally, the LA Metro continuing expansion funding comes from an increase in local sales taxes at both the city and county level. Yes, LA residents voted to tax themselves to build a Metro system for decades to come. It will roughly be about $120 BILLION over several decades. We're about half way through. And, the CAHSR funding is completely separate. It has nothing to do with LA Metro. Those are the facts. How do you like them apples?

@@TigerRailfan Honestly, I notice that people who voted against LRT never ridden a train in their lives. DC in the 60s was against metro. Now, it’s one of the most ridden metros in America. I think they should ignore voters at this point
