    I can’t believe you used a piece of wood to break the drywall strip that you had laid on the block of wood. You need to use your hands to break the drywall not lumber. It can easily break with your hands, specially 1/2” drywall

    It's not that simple when you hook up the power you will get power to the unit however you will not get power to the thermostat. My unit has a computer board that gets its power from somewhere else.

    • @RicksDIY
      @RicksDIY Před 6 měsíci

      That's interesting, most thermostats are powered from the 24V transformer in the indoor unit. Maybe has a separate power supply somewhere? (very rare to see that in all my years working only seen a couple like that) Good luck, Cheers

    The cable really helps alot. If the box only had a padlock on it you could definitely twist that nut off from the outside by just pulling the lock to hold tension on the eye bolt....I would say a nyloc nut is absolutely necessary when using this with a standard padlock

    Hi Rick, I have a EU7000isC generator and the manual states "Honda EB5000i/EB7000i generators are designed for construction job site use and cannot be connected to a building’s electrical system. These generators have the neutral bonded to ground to comply with OSHA job site temporary power regulation" I want to install a transfer switch (30-Amp Indoor Generator Transfer Switch Kit for 6-10 Circuits). How can I connect this EB7000 correctly to the house electrical system. I didn't understand your video 100%. THX

    Is it okay to take out one black adapter for the cord and leave in the other one? It is too tight if I put both in. Now there are spaces around the cord though. Do I need to cover that with electrical tape?

    Is it possible to reuse the neutral that goes in at the top...if it's in good shape, just seemed like an extra step that could help avoid injury. Keep in mind I have never done this before nor do I have electrical box experience. Great stuff, love the test dowel & schematic sheet, great ideas!

    Excellent video of the 20mm can locks. EYELET bolts....DUH on me, lol. Off to the hardware store I go. I could not justify spending $6-$7 for those manufactured locks. Thanks a lot, Sir. For my current can, its bolted down to my truck bed and storing chemicals in it like coolant, oil, DOT III fluid, and hose repair tape.....they have been stolen but thankfully the thieves left my lid there. I have an old truck, lol. Thanks again.

    Rick Many portable generators have their earth centre tapped for safety reasons. This halves the electrical voltage to earth and makes using portable tools that much safer. However it causes difficulties when using the same generator for fixed installations. Have you come across this problem and is there a way round it?

    My only concern with your video is not the grounding but how close the generator is to the house. The manufacture requires a generator be as far away from the house to prevent carbon monoxide from entering the home. Either way, it;s a great video.

      Rack an pinion design. 3-4 foot long geared rack and round geared pinion spun by flywheels, actuated by lever that pushes geared rack down onto the pinions. Rack goes forward until it disengages with the pinion and returns to original position. Very rough explaination, but it's how it works.
