Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole[a] (May 20, 1959 - June 26, 1997), also called Braddah IZ or just simply IZ, was a Native Hawaiian musician and singer. He achieved commercial success and popularity outside of Hawaii with his 1993 studio album, Facing Future. His medley of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" was released on his albums Ka ʻAnoʻi and Facing Future, and was subsequently featured in various media. The song has had 358 weeks on top of the World Digital Songs chart, making it the longest-leading number-one hit on any of the Billboard song charts. Kamakawiwoʻole is regarded as one of the greatest musicians from Hawaii and is the most successful musician from the state.
Along with his ukulele playing and incorporation of other genres, such as jazz and reggae, Kamakawiwoʻole remains influential on Hawaiian music. He was named "The Voice of Hawai‘i" by NPR in 2010.
He endured several hospitalizations because of his weight. With chronic medical problems including respiratory and cardiac issues, Kamakawiwoʻole died at the age of 38 in the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu at 12:18 a.m. on June 26, 1997, from respiratory failure.

I'm not so much a big fan of Bruce today since he blended his Democratic point of view into his music. But I will say this video isn't so bad. And the girls are awfully cute. And I always did enjoy this song. I still wish I could like Bruce. But he's made it very difficult. And as a fan I never blended politics with his music
Brian I'm not sure which songs you refer to when you say he blended. Are you talking Born in the USA, Shut out the Light, type stuff? Because I've been a Springsteen lifer, I see very little of his political views in his songs. I've seen people blow a gasket over Born in the USA because they misinterpreted the lyrics for 40yrs, as if that was his fault, but I'm just not sure of the songs you're talking about. I've made an awful lot of Springsteen videos, and I just don't get it. Now if you're talking about his views period, that's another matter. People on both sides are doing it.

A song about a murderous rat is making me cry
I had a hitch in my life in the 1960s that saved my life. Dusk was coming, there was a snow blizzard in Pa., it was 20f and the road had zero traffic on a Sunday night--I was near frozen. Then some highlights shown in the distance and I prayed he/she would see me, have some pity and collect me. He stopped and saved my life he was an angel sent---of this I have NO doubt.
I just binged watched this about 15 times. What a joy!
