Won’t start? Check crankshaft and seal.
If your blower is not starting, vibrating, or loosing power then check the crankshaft. Wiggle the flywheel and if there is play then the bearing and crankcase are worn. New short block needed. If you see oil around the crankshaft then this indicates an air leak around the seal or bearing and it’s causing low power.

Excessive oil in engine? Don’t twist the cap in when filling.
zhlédnutí 13KPřed měsícem
When adding oil to your engine you can use both sides of the plugs. Don’t thread the cap in to check for oil level. Don’t tip the engine to add oil as this can add excessive amount of oil and can cause engine failure.
Warranty denied! Engine overheated due to lack of oil
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 2 měsíci
If your engine is not working and your technician denies the warranty, this is why. If there are metal shavings, score marks around the piston and crankshaft and there is a deep blue color around certain parts, then that indicates lack of oil and overheating.
Smoking engine? Check piston and rings for excessive play.
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 2 měsíci
If your engine is smoking check the piston for excessive play. Remove the cylinder head and rock the piston back and forth. There should be some resistance but if you see major play then get the engine specs and find the tolerance to measure the rings, piston and cylinder.
Testing flywheel magnets
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 2 měsíci
If you want to test the flywheel magnets put a 1” socket or a screwdriver with the handle point up and see if it holds. If it falls then the magnets need replacing due to lack of strength.
Testing a battery with a battery and load tester.
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 3 měsíci
To test a battery with a battery tester connect the cables to the battery. If the battery does not show around 12.5von a 12v battery then charge it. If it still doesn’t read 12.5v then replace the battery. Press the load button to load test the battery for no more than 10 seconds. If it does not read green where the cold cranking apps represent your battery then the battery is bad.
Connect a voltage regulator
zhlédnutí 4,4KPřed 3 měsíci
To connect a voltage regulator plug the 2 like wires from the stator to the ac pins. Connect the positive cable to the B pin. If you can’t see any markings on the regulator then the pins that are connected together are the ac pins. Connect the ground cable to the frame of the regulator.
Installing fuel pump
zhlédnutí 30KPřed 3 měsíci
To install a fuel pump check the engravings on each inlet. One has a “P” for pressure which is the hose coming from the engine. The other is an arrow pointing inward which is the line coming from the fuel tank. The other is an arrow pointing outward which is the line going to the carburetor.
Detach stator from rotor on a generator
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 3 měsíci
To detach a stator from a rotor on a generator the best way is to use a puller. Lubricate the bearing and gently begin to tighten. If you don’t want to damage the threads then screw a bolt in and use it as leverage. Be careful not to damage the windings on the stator and rotor when pulling splitting it apart.
Engine won’t start? This could be why.
zhlédnutí 12KPřed 3 měsíci
If your engine won’t start or is hard to pull check your camshaft. The tappets ride on the camshaft and for a split second the camshaft opens the exhaust valve to allow for easy start. If the camshaft is stuck or broken, then replace it.
Pressure washer safety valve or thermal valve
zhlédnutí 950Před 3 měsíci
What’s the difference between thermal relief valve and safety release valve? Thermal valve opens up when it reaches a specific temperature and closes back up when it goes below the specific temperature. This is usually 145 degrees. The safety valve opens up on psi pressure and releases water when it reaches it. Some valves are adjustable and should be done with caution.
Adjust safety relief valve
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 3 měsíci
If the safety relief valve is releasing water from your pressure washer then adjust the valve. Make sure the valve does not exceed the pumps psi capability. Turn it clockwise to increase the pressure and release water at a lower psi and turn it counterclockwise to increase the psi. Do this while spraying water.
Replace thermal relief valve!
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 3 měsíci
If your pressure washer is leaking from the thermal relief valve replace it immediately. This is due to not spraying water while the unit is on. Once the temperature reaches about 145 degrees the valve opens and allows cold water to enter the pump and cool it again.
Adjust pressure washer soap dispenser
zhlédnutí 1,8KPřed 3 měsíci
To adjust the flow of chemical on your pressure washer you need to install an adjustable chemical soap injector. Turn the knob to the plus sign to increase and to the minus sign to decrease the gallons per minute rate. Don’t forget to use the low pressure nozzle.
Need Stihl Parts? Find the serial number
zhlédnutí 3,8KPřed 11 měsíci
If you need parts for your Stihl MS180 chainsaw then look for the serial number and use that to get the correct parts. There are only 2 locations, one is a tag under the muffler and another is engraved on the base underneath the muffler.
After watching four other videos blaming bad fuel this actually worked ! Thanks heaps ! 😊
Thanks for watching
Lmao stupidity at its finest string tired af thats not how you un flood a engine you simply let it sit for 10 minutes this is just beating the saw up aittin there pullin it lmao i build for a living yall need to chill with this pull till it starts thats not unfloodin thats forcing it lmao wow
Thanks i was killing my self almost had the whole thing apart😂
😆 thanks for watching
Wait a sec…
Ok. I’ve been waiting for a day.
I watched a ridiculous way to load the string and thought surely there is a better or right way. Wasn’t disappointed when I came across this video. Many thanks
Thanks a lot for watching.
I think i saw the same crap
Very dangerous!
How so?
I want to learn. How is it dangerous?
I just brought home a brand new MS170, this thing would not start for nothing. I had them start it at the store, but I wasn’t present while they did it. I suspect they put old fuel in the tank. I emptied the tank put in fresh fuel, and still nothing. I own other Stihl 2 strokes and am familiar with their full, half chock starting sequence. Either way, I could not get it to start. I watched your clip and gave it a shot. Lo and behold, that sumofabitch finally kicked over and ran. I was able to finish the job I intended to and had no more issues. Long story short, your video helped me and I wanted to say thanks. 👍
I appreciate it. Thank you for watching.
Yomansup12 is spot on, spent an hour trying to figure it out and very few videos for this particular mower head style.
❤what amperage on the switch 😊
I've been adjusting jets with drill bits since the 60s. It's not rocket science. If you don't know how then search YT for "generator pilot jet" and you'll find people who actually do this the right way, or take your one tool, your wire cutters out of your toolbelt and cut the crap out of it and foul your plugs because you'll be running rich as hell. Geez
If oil gets in the spark plug and coils can it casue a fire by chance ?
I highly doubt it.
Yeah, it looks like you didn't bypass the solanoid it was throwing the cog.
Lol guys come on its clearly a joke there's not even a jet in the plastic housing. Watch when he cuts to that scene the jet has already been removed before he cuts it. If you ever had one of these apart you know what the jet looks like in there.
Wow you are clearly lost. You’ve done this before?
@10minutefix hahah clearly this is your first time I literally have two of these on the bench right now about to get cleaned.. are you saying that you didn't remove the jet from the plastic holding it before you cut it? You do know there's supposed to be a brass jet in there right? Let play along for a sec. Why even cut it in the first place when just removing the jet as you clearly did will have same outcome. Did you lose the jet and not realize it?
@@turb0nasty887 sad how stupid you are. The point of the video was to show where to cut the jet. You donkey.
Thnks bro i will see tomorrow when i check that i just did carburator change but no spark plug 😢😢😢
Connect them in series so you get double the voltage. It’s like carb loading for your car. Your instruments will even sparkle.
Which BEGGS the question, what about if it's Bendix drive?
Nice, straight to the point. Could someone explain why it does not appear to be relevant to test continuity between the shaft and the bigger bars at the bottom? Many thanks.
Can i use a starter motor on A electric go kart
Actually you should hold the wire with your finger inside a bucket of water while someone turns the key over to start the car
It's not half choke. It's high idle, choke is open and the throttle is held down.
Sorry but that’s not how it should be done. This is the safest and most effective way to start a flooded unit.
Remote control starting
❤❤❤ b❤ be Des ba ❤❤❤

Better yet never buy a Stihl product they are all junk especially the backpack blowers.
Adjust the carburetor clutch and clean the muffler bearing and then put in a Champion or NGK spark plug . Definitely don't forget to gap the giggling pin and will help for the timing 👍
Hello how are you
I’m good you?
Buy a battery charger at an auto parts store for around $20 bucks. You can trickle charge. And it will bring your battery to 100%
I usually use a analog charger that's always putting out power where it doesn't have to have a power signal to kick on.. sometimes I have taken batteries that won't take a charge and connect them up backwards for about 30 to 45 seconds on 200 amp boost sometimes that gets them working... But be cautious doing that it could explode..... That's a last resort I usually use like 10 amps
You never did say test is run with engine running. This is terrible instructions. Your instruction is incomplete to the max.
I suggest you don’t mess with whatever your working on. If you have to be told to turn the engine over then you shouldn’t even touch any tools.
what is the on off switch. What is chock switch removed from the ignition coil. What is the logic. You do not give good understanding. Get off You Tube.
Hey idiot, it’s not my problem you don’t understand. You don’t know what the on/off switch is? Don’t touch any machines or tools. Don’t even touch yourself you might get really injured.
Hey, how are you. Love it. Took a cap, charged it off 220 so 110ish. Told my friend, if his son didnt stop stealing my change im gonna fix him. Center console wired. Change everywhere. Id left it like that so long i kinda forgot about it. Dont touch that change and ground at same time. 😅
What?
@10minutefix i shocked him. One hand on door, other grabbed change laying on a stripped wire connected to cap. Hair stuck to window trim and change everywhere inside my car. He jerked his hand away so fast he pulled emergency brake and hit head jerking it out of car. He never went near my car again
YOOOOOO why did this fucking video appear in my feed today of all days? The day I flooded a saw and had to take it to the shop because my dumb ass couldn't figure it out?
🤣
“Don’t clean the plug” biggest load of shit I’ve ever heard 😂
Is it really the biggest you’ve heard? Have you seen bigger is the question.
Thanks for the information keep it up
Thanks for watching
To discharge a capacitor, toss it to a buddy. 😁 That was a joke, dont do that! Payback can be hazardous!
Still 😄
Thanks bro
I havnt laughed so hard at these comments in days. Only a couple people in here actually know what their talking about. The guy who made this video isnt one of them.
You want to laugh? Look at your family.
@10minutefix hummm? No your videos will do. I have forgotten more about electrical than you will ever know. I started at a shop in 1979 called the alternator shop. Ive worked on everything you can imagine, including helicopters. I was the warranty station for Leece Neville in central washington. Doubt you even know who that is?
@joemtnman I don’t and I don’t care. I’ve worked with old pieces of crap like you. Been doing this so long so you know everything and more than anyone. Nobody knows except dung like you. Still, donkeys like you have a tough time adapting and are bitter from younger techs learning and grasping the info faster than idiots like you. I want to laugh also. Send a picture of your mother.
@@10minutefix if you want, i can tell you how to fix your charger so you dont have that problem. Oh ya! Forgot. I can repair battery chargers too. Dash boards, radios. Helicopters. Yes they brought me a helicopter. No blades on it. But i did have to start it in the shop. Had to test it. That was loud. I was impressed with myself. Never be afraid to tackle something. You might surprise yourself? I was just ribbing you guy. But seriously, few people know more about batteries than me. I even installed the first car phones and sold the brick and flip phones.
@joemtnman Nobody cares what you know.
This genuinely worked and can’t thank you enough for this easy little trick!!!
Thanks for watching
Nice 👟 shoes
After cutting the pilot jet will it still works?
It works when the carburetor is functioning properly but the jet is the issue.
Ahhh, just stick a screwdriver into the plug wire end, & turn the motor over. 😅
Mine does this, but after replacing the coil, I can’t get it to recoil
Nice
Ok
I've done this many times it works
I figured that out a long time ago. This is one way to sell more batteries at the parts store.
thie gent is just trying to help id say thanks cos lots dont know this
@Clyde-jd8ro Thanks for watching
next: smelt it into a disk and etch the word "muhkanik" on it. Congratulations, you are now officially recognized by the board.
What about the points and condenser)
Or the magneto.
Same carburetor as gx690?
I think it was from a gx690
Say spark one more time
Sssssspark
Keren👍
