A good actor can play a part very well if the actor doesn't know the previous installations of the series. He just needs a good script and good coaching, if necessary. Even the writers don't necessarily need to be fans to write a good Star Wars story. Perfect example is Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One and wrote Andor. He's not a fan but he wrote some of the best Star Wars ever.

Barriss should be a villain, to the core, her anger for being trained by Luminara (who we all know represents the worse in the Jedi), watching the caos in the Republic, she should be full on board of becoming an inquisitor and bringing an end to the destruction and troubles caused by the Clone Wars, etc... She's not misunderstood, or something like it, she defended her actions in the series, why would she change her mind now? Kenobi, Ashoka, and boba were pretty disappointing. Although the Mandalorian, Andor, clone wars, and even bad batch were very good series.

Never trust early access reviews, if they are negative then they will lose early access and they don't want to not have that Disney connection cut off. That is why the one "Bad" review was "mixed".

Not really a mystery given they blew the plot of there being a good twin/clone and a bad twin/clone.

At worst she doesn't break canon. Plagueis existence already broke it, so to speak. When Kloon said the thousand years quote; right there and then we know the Jedi were clueless about Plagueis and his master before him.
