I just graduated TODAY...wonderful and challenging experience...2024 devil pup
I was there in 1974, 2nd Platoon. Staff Sgt. Franklin and Platoon Sgt. Ramirez. All the push-ups and running, I was rock solid for my first day of high school two months later, because I kept it up for quite a while after coming home. A great program, nothing negative to say, and the chow was excellent.
Isn't this what young marines is
I was a Devil Pup back in 61and 62 when I was in high school. It was the best experience of my life back then and I thoroughly enjoyed the program. I would highly recommend it for young men and women who want to experience a program that will provide them focus on spirit, discipline and respect for my country. The Marine Corps shares their experiences in making Marines at camp Pendleton in San Diego and you can see the pride in the members of the Corp. Later on I faced being drafted because of the Vietnam War and I decided to enlist in the Marines. I am a Marine and very proud of it.
It’s important to have a haircut for sanitary reasons! BS! I guess the women are are not sanitary!
Who remembers The Buddy Program!? A cool idea....
Women were not admitted in 1964. Good actually!
I was I’m the pups back in ‘92. At graduation I even had the honor of introducing Olympic Gold Medalist Craig Buck to the other guys in the class along with the active duty soldiers since he was there in the stands with my family. 12 years later I was off to jump school for the Army
i was one in 1983 was the best time.
I loved this. I was there around 1990 or 91. Mighty, mighty, 5th platoon, were number 1. And we were honor platoon
The devil works in mysterious ways. Parents, don't give your children over to the devil.
Went to it twice once 1999 and then 2001 and I was 13 the first time out of middle school. Best ever times I had
My buddy who was active duty in US Army and was a graduate of Devil Pups program, stated that Devil Pups program was harder than full army boot camp! As a graduate of the Devil Pups program myself I can agree with him. Devil Pups was to this day the hardest experience I had in my life. Ill never forget what it taught me to never give up! I barely graduated due to being overweight, however I learned one important lesson and that was to never give up! I graduated with the class of 1993! Thank you Corporal Teal, who was one of my Drill Instructors who gave me motivation to never quit! Semper Fi!
Devil Pups Class of 1993! We were all male class!
Proud to say I am a Devil Pup from the summer of 1959. One of the best experiences of my life.
Moment too. 1964
I remember back in 2003 my boots were all stolen from my room by my SSGT to be lent to these pups. I didn’t even know at the time that the pups were even a thing. They had my boots for only one week and were returned to me in such bad shape I was forced to throw them away. This led me to have to spend over 300 dollars for 2 new sets of boots thst my SSGT would not pay for after stealing them from Me. Kudos to y’all for whatever SEAL ass training you must be doing out there on the daily though. Must be real hard chargers. All past transgressions aside, seems like a good program. To this day I’ve never seen them in person, but it seems like a pretty good deal. Just brin your own damn boots 😆
My dad went to devil pups
This should be required to graduate from high school.
I was a devil pup 1979, graduated guide on Joined the Marine Corp in 1982 served 8 years loved every bit of it. Simper Fi Marines

“Flag burning institute at a local high school” What a bunch of dirty hippies.
Yea but they never talk about Bullock didnt go through this but went through real basic and went to Vietnam at 14 yrs old. So, cant be that hard and the comic acting drill sergeants couldnt see that he was a child. They should have lined up and shot.
Is it only at Camp Pendleton and exclusive to CA residents?
Jason Babila yes only at Camp Pendleton, but check their website to see if your state qualifies!
Hawaii has Kaneohe MCAS and I was just wondering if kids from Hawaii are eligible to attend.
A joint a trunk see how long you from Marine Cadet program in Brooklyn New York brand by Colonel College he do a good job of teaching kids how to be leaders and I think I need to check into him and help him out cuz he helping us out but when he go out and look for help nobody wants to help him
Semper Fi is good that was teaching kids how to be leaders and double dogs and all of that but I give it out to the Marines will take time out and want to teach them semper fidelis always faithful
My dad got me into this program during two consecutive summers in July 1959 and August 1960. It helped me to excel when I was drafted just after college in 1966. The army singled me out at the induction center at Ft. Lewis, Washington and sent me on to Fort Dix, NJ for special basic and advanced individual training over 16 weeks after which I gained the rank of E5. From there I was sent on to Ft. Benning, GA for 6 months of Officer Candidate School at which time I was given a commission as an infantry second lieutenant. From there I was sent behind the Iron Curtain to Berlin, serving as platoon leader, company executive officer, acting company commander and battalion staff officer over a two year assignment. When discharged from active duty I was "invited" to do my reserved duty as a leadership instructor for the Sixth Army's command and staff college helping non commissioned officers learn to be good leaders and teachers. I attribute these experiences to my further success and "can do" attitude in my civilian business life despite the difficulties I had learning in high school coupled with low self esteem.
Damn, I wish I knew about this back when I was a school
Public schools should adopt this kind of structure. Fix a lot of problems in society.
Dont forget some of these kids also will Join the EMS Service which is also part of First Responders its not Just Fire and Police. Remember one of the most important person in your Units is " DOC".
Did you have a good time?? 😏☺️🤣
NCOs that failed sensitivity training. Say it ain't so! 😂😂😂😁
I remember seeing theese kids at camp Pendleton while I was in combat training.
They make you work for that coin you get in the end. Got to admit shit was hardcore.
Devil Pup graduate from 1980. Can remember it like it was last week and loved it! It definitely changes you for the better and highly recommend it.
Military should be mandatory 2 years every 18 year old in our beloved country. The U.S. is headed down the toilet
Negative. I like the idea of not having a mandatory service. Bc if anyone does decide to sign up, then it truly shows they love their country. If they are forced, where's the freedom? Although there are a lot of snowflakes in America now, let's keep them out of the military. Keep it strong. That's why we say thank you for your service. Bc they didn't have to sign their life away but they did.
@@jbizzmore1878 I prefer programs like this than scared straight programs for some of our troubled teens. For some, they can be given a choice of juvie, a scared straight program or 10 ten days with the Pups.
Leaving next week on July 9 gonna be one hell of a ride
I am going to devil pups in a week or two I am so scared 😱
How did it go?
Good
outstanding program
Nothing feels more accomplishing in your life than after those ten long days, walking across the parking lot with that honerary red scarf XD
Yes! 4th platoon class of 1993!
Best time of my life 5 platoon 94 !
