First off I would like to say we are thankful to have you and your family in our community and your willingness to share your discoveries. We wish only the best life has to offer to you and yours.

I lived there for many years and I cannot offer any positive feedback. It's a nowhere place stuck in the middle of nowhere, it offers nothing interesting, and the citizenry is comprised primarily of dumbed down people, a lot of rednecks, supposedly upstanding & ethical business people who drink alcohol and smoke pot and cheat on their spouses, and heirs from old money families who think they own the town. I would say to anyone that the best thing about living in Wichita Falls is the day you get to move OUT of Wichita Falls.

I lived in Iowa Park from 87-93 and attended MSU. Went back for the first real visit in nearly 30 years. Y'all did a great job highlighting older gems like Lucy Park, Lake Wichita as well as newer restaurants and coffee houses. I barely went east of 287, but last week discovered many of it's old and new charms. Try Pioneer 2 or 3 and visit the main Post Office. It's an art deco wonder and architectural time capsule. You can go upstairs and see the federal court room and old school offices.

I’ve been there!

My wife is a stay at home mom to our two kids (2 year old and a 6 month old) and you mentioned getting out in nature or hanging out with other moms during the day. Do you have any recommendations as to where she could do that? She's been trying to find like a SAHM group or something where she can get out of the house and the 2 year old can hang out with other kids his age. We are in WF too. I also wanted to pipe up on the homeschool thing. My sister homeschooled all of her kids and they turned out well enough that we are doing the same. I have two friends that are doing the same. I think everyone should homeschool that can afford it. You can always bring in a private tutor to focus on specific topics if they need a little extra help or express a deeper interest in something.
