Here is an absolutely stunning 1955 Packard Caribbean Convertible in nearly flawless condition inside and out. It is truly one of the finest examples of its kind. The car has undergone a full restoration that was professionally completed to the highest standards, with attention to detail throughout. It is finished in the best color combination the car offered: White Jade, Rose Quartz, and Gray Pearl. The Caribbean was the top-of-the-line Packard for 1955, with only 500 produced. This was one of the most expensive American cars of its time, with an MSRP of $5,900-triple the cost of the average car in 1955.
A little history on this car: We acquired the car from the family of its long-term owner who recently passed away. Due to that reason, we don't have the car's entire history. However, we do know that this was always a very nice car that was completely rust-free. The car received a no-expense-spared, professionally done complete restoration, with thorough attention to detail throughout. Right after being finished, the car sat in climate-controlled storage for a few years before we acquired it. We just went through the car, refreshing the brake system, fuel system, and fluids. The car runs and drives like a dream, and absolutely everything works on the car, from the original AM radio to the torsion-level suspension and everything in between. We truly believe the car has only a mere few hundred miles on it since the restoration was completed. I have never seen a nicer example of one that has been restored so correctly. To duplicate this restoration, you would have to find a good car needing restoration, spend approximately $40K to $50K on the car itself, then $200K to $300K plus at a restoration shop, and wait a few years to complete it.
This car is ready to be driven, enjoyed, shown, or added to any collection. It would qualify for any concours show and would be an award winner at any AACA event or classic car show you enter it in. It would satisfy even the pickiest of buyers. Everything on the car was done to show-quality standards. Only bad thing is that Flight Pitch transmission. Tried to get parts for one years ago, none available so we converted it to a DynaFlo. Caution whoever buys it to not put the gear selector in G! G is grade retarder and if car is accelerated in G transmission will be destroyed!
Unbelievable
Either the seats were a special order or the inserts have already been replaced once. The stock cloth inserts on a 76 trim code would be solid black nylon cloth material. 56 is vinyl, 86 is leather. The material in this car looks a lot like 1963 Falcon cloth, not sure.
The few thin spots in the paint were you can see the primer means this car has been buffed many times.
Notice the aluminum trim on the edges of the seatbacks? You can also see aluminum trim on the inboard seat bottoms. For SOME reason that same trim is missing on the outboard seat bottoms.

How do you know the A/C kicks on if there is no belt on the compressor clutch?

My first guess would be the power steering pump. I don't think it's the transmission. I owned a '65 T-Bird and the PS pump was messed up and made that noise. The wipers are hydraulic and integrated in the PS system.

looks like the weather stripping is there at least on the drivers side, but it was either over sprayed with paint or it's badly weathered.
Nice Fleetwood sedan. Factory A/C would've had vents from the package shelf running under the headliner to vents over the driver and passenger.

I had a 1958 Super 88 in 1966. It was the most unreliable car I ever owned. Nothing but trouble even with less than 50K on the odometer.

1969 was my favorite year Cadillac. I don’t know what there was about it but I have always loved it. An older couple who lived down the street from me had a Coupe deVille. I swear that the owner never drove it over 35 miles per hour. I could just hear those 375 horsepower begging to be unleashed!
Love the car. My mom had a triple black and I used to love driving it. Don’t we all wish we had a parent’s cars? My mom and dad loved new cars and were quite lavish on spur of the moment purchases. Love the video, but please don’t do it while you walk in gravel/dirt, annoying sound. It lessens the importance of the car! Let alone dirties that beautiful carpet. ❤❤❤❤ it.
Little known fact, Edsel made one factory retractable identical to the 57 58 and 59 Ford. I have seen pictures of it.

Mine is identical to this car. Mine has 32,000 miles, been in a garage since 1996. Obviously, I’m replacing the end caps, they are being manufactured right now for me, made of soft material, similar to the originals, no fiberglass. Otherwise, my car’s paint is almost flawless. Getting brand new end cap chrome as well with my order.
