    @8:49 i wonder why on Linux there are only 5 Levels for "Specular Reflections", ☀️🤏🏻☹️ on Win11 are 7 Levels according to Digital Foundry. Seems no Raytracing on Linux. So Playing on Linux should mean pay max 700 Bucks for gpu because all games that need faster card will run drastically slower on Linux.

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9 Před 4 dny

      The 360 AIO will perform a bit better, at least when you are going with power hungry CPUs. Air coolers are safer. Pick your poison. Don't think that good air coolers can't handle power hungry CPUs, it's just that 360 AIOs will do better

    I'm going to buy an amd ryzen 7 7800x3d and i was going to go with 6400mhz cl32 because for its price and what it provides for 2x16gb 32gb it is a solid ddr5 ramkit for the prices you can get them at (although not the most budget concious, just practical preformane gain) but I heard it had instability past 6000mhz with people saying it works and it doesn't work dependent on so much different variables that are in and out of your control, would it even be worth it to go through that grief to even attempt it if I could with this mobo and ram G.SKILL Flare X5 Series DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6400Mhz CL32, ASUS B650-E TUF? Because if not then I'll just save myself the time and buy cl30 6000mhz because i can afford it and that cl is still the sweet spot so it wouldn't be a waste of money anyways.

    Thank you very much for this video. I have plenty of Arctic coolers (p12 ARGB and P14 both regular and ARGB) And I was considering getting the Ps120 for a 9800x3d build (currently I have a 5900 with a custom 360mm radiator cooling it). I knew temperature improvements wouldn't be that much better but I was hoping for at least a 3c. Thanks for the test regardless, a shame you couldn't add a noise comparison. Higher end smartphones have pretty accurate decibel estimations, and even recording the tonal profile of the coolers would have given an idea of which is less annoying to have around. Thanks regardless.

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9 Před 6 dny

      As I test in a PC case, the noise will not be accurate as noise from the other fans will interfere. Also, it depends a lot of the noise profile, as I prefer low pitch in contrast to high pitch sounds, but this is me. It is not silent, but not loud, if you don't put the A12 Max to the highest fan speed. Sorry for not putting the noise, but thanks for the suggestion, I will keep it in mind.

Or if I want to use a controller and kick back on the couch & use the TV instead of sitting to stare at my monitor. I don't always wanna sit on for the desktop experience, sometimes I wanna be lazy and be on my couch. It's all preferences and whether I want to wait or not for different feel. Games like FF14 is terrible on ps5 vs the pc it's so much smoother and better using an mmo mouse also. My wife and I like switching between console also, such as the Switch has fun coop games when we ran out of coop games on the other platform. Both has pros and cons I will never understand these fanboys over one platform....

    This is more for anyone reading the comments. For optimal mouse performance (it can't realistically get better) 1k + 3200dpi or higher usually saturates it. Using low dpi is always a mistake no exceptions, just use a lower sensitivity. If you are worried about relearning your sens, you can use a sensitivity calculator to convert your current settings to your new ones. The responsiveness will be as good as your mouse is capable of and the rest is up to your skill issue.

What is strange is that you crash to desktop, this should not be the case as usually the CPU will thermal throttle at 89. Are you sure it's because of the CPU?

      Use hwinfo64 and log a game run. It is very unlikely that you will reach 89 degrees while gaming. Even at 29 degrees room temp I didn't reach that point. Is this a new setup? Try to repaste. Make sure that the sticker is removed from the heatsink and is sited properly. Try to reinstall the air cooler and if that doesn't help, try to run the cpu fans at 100% fan spoed and log the run using hwinfo64. To me this doesn't look like a cooler issue. Keep in mind that modern CPU should have protections in place so that these will not restart under high temps, just downclock

    You should be using lower resolutions and in game settings so you max out the usage on the cpu and not the gpu. You need to be cpu bound to truly see the difference in cooling between air and liquid in gaming.

    The power limit is the same as in Windows. Linux shows the TGP (total graphics power), which is just the power of the GPU core. Windows shows the TBP (total board power), which shows all the power of the GPU, including the memory (the memory at max clocks can use 70W). You can see this in HWINFO64 in Windows as it shows both values. This is the most misunderstood thing there is. The power consumption is the same, and you can also test this at the wall, which I have. Linux needs to show TBP and stop this confusion. Thanks for the video!

    • @casuallygamin9
      @casuallygamin9 Před 20 dny

      You may be correct, I actually tested the power to the wall and it's only 15-20W more in Windows then in Linux in the same game section. I wasn't sure where the extra wats are used in Windows, so I suspected the GPU
