I enjoyed watching this. I think many people from Hawaii would like coming to see your Japan town since we can relate to Japanese culture & Hawaiian poke' & your bento box lunches & Japanese products. My Aunt & Uncle passed away last year & when he returned home to Hawaii & visit his relatives he would bring a box of delicious orange mochi from Japan town I think. I have to check out your town soon.

hey im a student at UC Berkeley atm and im the son of Japanese immigrants. Currently definitely feeling some spur within me to do some work for communities across the nation to maintain and support the Japanese diaspora. This video popped up to my feed and I'm honestly glad it did too... Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley so LA Little Tokyo, Sawtelle, and Torrance were the places to go for me! Love and supporting this, I hope I will get involved soon too but as a student its probably a bit difficult to make meaningful change so time will tell.

Thank you very much for posting. Didn't know about these events. This is crazy. I'm 61 years old and just now learning about the extent of the history of Japanese-American baseball. My grandfather was a Horio. My grandmother was a HInaga. John Horio married (Mary Hinaga); my mother's parents. Saw my Horio and Hinaga relatives all the time, and they never talked about baseball. Related by marriage to the Yoshiokas, Inouyes, and others. Several other familiar names. I never knew some of them even played baseball. Had I of known what baseball treasures I had when growing up. Almost everyone is gone now. But thanks to all of you who are coordinating events, writing books, etc., I have resources available to me, so I can continue to learn and pass on this history to my son.

Thank you, this was very interesting. My family were close friends with Gary's wife Nancy here in Denver, Colorado. My husband and I came to the Bay Area in April to visit family and enjoyed experiencing some of the NikkeiMatsuri. I, like many of my generation, love A Grain of Sand and Hiroshima. I'm one who became a doctor, but appreciate great music and great story telling.
