Did you do anything about the oil feed gallery between the block and the head for the rocker shaft? The drilling on a 998 block doesn’t always come out in exactly the right place compared to the 1275 head, take the rocker cover off and make sure there’s oil getting up there when the engines running.
Brilliant video fella. So easy to follow keep up tje great videos
Great job Matt, did yous have to adjust much on the current tune? any link to where you got the sensor from?
Hope the turbo isn’t too noisy for you 😂🤣
all these minis have newer parts than the bmw ones lol
That's cool
Nice video, how is the engine performing?
Not sure if I heard you mention but use the 1275 head gasket when doing this.
Thanks, you are correct 👌🏻
I've just spent all day watching all the videos 👍🏻 now I'm waiting for a update 😂😂. That's what happens when you're off sick 👍🏻.
I'm glad I bought a roll over jig just for this reason. Also watching other people's videos I've purchased some tek screws or self tapping screws. All this advice from everyone is brilliant 👏🏻. I'm loving watching your videos btw, looking forward to seeing what bumble looks like in 2022 😁
This makes me smile as I've got the same panel to fit 😄. Taking the subframe in & out multiple times is a bit of a pain. But it's definitely worth doing it 👌🏻.
I felt the same when I turned the car over & I didn't realise how bad the rear end was. Love seeing the progress & I've plenty of content to get through 😀👍🏻
Great How-To Video! One thing that can be done as well as angling the sensor upwards to increase the longevity of it is to wire in a delay timer for the gauge. The biggest killer of Lambda sensors is heating the element and then it being hit with condensation from a cold exhaust. Adding a 30s delay to the heating of the element can increase the life of the sensor quite drastically! Possibly not essential if the car is used in-frequently, a sensor will probably last a year or two but if used daily, it may save a £80 bill every 8 months or so. Keep up the great work!
That's a lot of stuff to move 😮😮
I see you have the Altissimo rear lights like mine, Look after them because the lenses are like Unicorn Horns to get hold of :) also we have the same seat cloth which on mine are early 1978 car
I have a classic mini cooper
Awesome, size of the nuts always helps (the drive nut looks pretty big)
Hi, yes the driveshaft nut is a special order 34mm socket for future reference
Other nuts are 9/16, 7/8 and 1/2”
@@MiniMattTV good man 🤝
Ah, you missed the money shot...getting the split/cotter pin out/back in to the pushrod fork while under the dash of the car. Any tips on that bit of magic?
Haha yes that job is terrible! I do have some small R clips the next time I need to change it
I longboard round Southampton all the time I've never bump into any other longboarder are you still out there?
I’m not no, I still think there is a longboard group associated with the Uni but I’m not sure. We always used to meet mid week so maybe you’ve just missed each other.
Spettacolare Evento . Grazie Mille per averci portato dentro la manifestazione , stando a Km di distanza . Video ben fatto .
Hi, great idea to remove secondary paint, did you use a dremel or hand for compound?
Hi, I used a dual action polisher with a foam pad.
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe .
oh my god. lovely Rover mini extrmely .. Thank you for video
Heeey buddy, amazing job you're doing!! Congratulations! Do you have the K&N air filter and/or box you're using??
10:30 " he's working on his differential" always makes me laugh when I see it in the Film.
Pretty cool. Welding looked very neat too.
You can drill the air box with 18mm holes underneath to help with flow!
It’s only a 998, standard airbox will have plenty of flow 👍
@@MiniMattTV Every little helps!
S U carburetors British
Beautiful events, too bad that in my country such events do not take place! Respect!
I should of gone with my 6 wheeler mini van I may have sold it there it's on gumtree
We're keeping Paul very busy haha :-)
Definitely lol 😆
Haha yep he’s stacked at the minute
Great video Matt, lots of nice Minis
you're getting good at moving the camera and most of the details.
I think a gimbal would help but I think it showed what the show was like.
Great video Matt glad you could be bothered to put one together because I couldn't haha
Looks to be a lot of trailer queens!
Certainly a few that wouldn’t dream of driving to show and shine
some fantastic minis
Thanks for this Matt dome crackers there, was there only one pickup?
Yes I think I got a short clip of almost every classic there. Definitely some beautiful cars!
Nice 1!.. Good viewing for those of us that couldn't make it! 👍
Great video Matt, looked like a decent turnout
Yes it was very busy! Plenty of autojumble bits too
@@MiniMattTV great to see the cars there when I couldn't make it. Cheers Matt
Nice footage matt, it was great to meet up again this weekend 👍
Jesus 🤯 makes our show here down under look like a pub run haha well done bud
Nice footage Matt 👍
Looks like a cracking day, gutted I couldn’t make it. 👍
Awesome!
Great video I won't be watching any others now. Thanks for the advise
Awesome and still the BEST mini name ever…. It seems a shame not to be able to salvage that block by skimming and using a shim…. My friend some of us enjoy the progress whenever it’s available. We all don’t have to put our weekly or monthly videos….
I will try to find someone who wants to try to fix it but I suspect it will end up as scrap unfortunately
Just stumbled across this channel..... Awesome 😃👍
Welcome 🙏
Wow what a great project
Thank you mate, should be fun
Looking forward to seeing this, I’ve toyed with the idea of whacking a turbo on my surplus 998. Trouble is I’d need another mini to put it in lol
Sounds like a good excuse to get a new one 🤣
IV always wanted to build a 998 turbo ,can’t wait for the next upload
Cheers, it should be a fun little engine
