I can remember being there well

Love Mother Earth and Matt Deighton is definitely my favourite singer/songwriter. I’ve got the recording of the Mother Earth reunited gig these guys did (original lineup). It was a privilege seeing them together again with some of the members travelling from Australia to do the gig. I watch by the sound engineer’s desk, completely absorbed in the gig. At the end I realised the sound engineer might have recorded it…. Asked and two weeks later got sent the recording…. Anyone reading this comment and would like a copy hit me up. 👍🏾

An absolute scorcher of a day and an even hotter gig.Ian Dury was outstanding.Finlay Quaye not so. Weller and the gang were at their best.

Why am I writing the just the 4th comment? Mother Earth - Deighton, Barklam et al - underrated is an understatement. These guys are as remarkable as is their talent. I don't think they know how great they really are. "and on - um - guitar, we have Bryn Barklam". Oh yes.

This version is at the right pitch too. On the CD it has been detuned to slightly above C#m for some reason.

What a day this was... absolutely scorching, supping pints in pub gardens, into Victoria Park, legendary Ian Dury and the Blockheads supporting, Finlay Quaye's career taking a turn for the worse, Weller on top form and a tidy lock in at a pub in Bethnal Green then hit a club somewhere after. 1998.. bloody hell nearly half my lifetime ago
