The tilting and rotating workbench
This shows the build for a workbench that can tilt and rotate. Ideal for woodcarving but can also be used lots of other projects.This is a simple project using screwed togther timbers, no difficult joinery, but the finished bench works really well and is sturdy enough for use.

    Could you advise on the size of the borders? I want to do this for a deck balustrade but the screen will be landscape with the leaves facing up

    • @crouchvalewoodcraft
      @crouchvalewoodcraft Před měsícem

      The border was 10cm/4 inches. However, you can change this to fit where you are going to put it. I just wanted a good margin to add stiffness and allow for fixing. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project 👍

    Hi Rob, great video and very informative. Is reaming holes and tapered tenons essential? Would straight tenons and holes work as well?

    • @crouchvalewoodcraft
      @crouchvalewoodcraft Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, straight tenons can be used with a straight drilled hole. The advantage of a tapered tenon is that it tightens as you apply load/sit in the chair. So if the wood should shrink, the leg shouldn't become loose. But with wood that is good and dry, a straight tenon is fine and the shoulder will hold the leg in place. Thanks for watching.
