What would you suggest for microphones to use with a TASCAM DR-05X in a Steel Mill environment? I work in a Steel Mill and I am just starting out with Sound Recording and bought myself the DR-05X

how many separate channels/inputs are there in total for line level audio that can be used at the same time? 6?
Hey, it has 4 mic/line level inputs. You can also record with the 2 on top at the same time

Heya! Thanks for watching. It depends what microphones you’re going to be using for the zoom F3. It would either be a zoom f3 or X6 for me. Probably leaning more towards the F3 with a nice pair of clippy or Usi pro omnidirectional microphones

Hiii, I’m just trying to get into using the X8 as an audio interface. I got the mics to come through; however, on the recordings, I hear the backing track on the actual recorded track. 😅. I checked that it wasn’t just my headphones bleeding through and it’s not! The track in the daw is playing through the USB channels (1&2) and then gets included at a quieter level on my recordings. Any ideas on how to separate the backing track?
Hey! It might be that you have the output of your backing track routed to the input of your recording track. What DAW are you using?
@@rarefindssound I use Mixcraft. I might’ve been having issues because I was using the default driver. I’ll try again with it set on ASIO.

Sage words. I got up at 4:30am today, took a rig I setup up the night before. Tripod, two home made omnis and an F3, all set ready to go. Was hoping to catch the dawn chorus, but when I got to my spot there was some water pump grinding away so loud. Drove a bit further and just setup for an hour or so. Nothing really amazing, but did enjoy just standing quietly and listening, watching the sun rise.
Thanks for watching! Even if you don’t get exactly what you’re after on a recording session, it’s still lovely to be outside before everyone else is up. Peacefully wondering around
