@@RaginKajun69 hahaha, I hear ya. Bonnabel boat launch.
Ferg,Dat is one BEAST and fighting it from a yak did give ya a nice advantage as he had to pull ya around!!Congrats,I have a funny story to relate. Many, many years ago I was fishing outta one of my fleet of Chapman pirogues, launched outta Cane Bayou and once I got to the mouth, headed E towards Goose Point and was tossing a soft plastic and ended up catching a fine 18 in speck, slightly bigger red and a black drum about same size as the red and all of a sudden started catching MONSTER reds and black drum and folks on shorelines, crabbing, probably thought I was snagged on bottom with the extreme bow in my fishing pole.Called my wife and told her I had three fine fish in small chest,NO way had room for not only another fish but certainly no room for MONSTERS!!!More fun than de law allows!!
@@anthonycyprusjr7829 that’s an awesome story! I finally got on the trout in lacombe this past spring. I want to fish the reef out there but it’s too far for comfort in the yak.
Congrats!! Fish of a lifetime

great video. Is this in the duck ponds by Hopedale?
@@MalayGhoseHajra thanks! I’m not familiar with the duck ponds, it’s close to the marina though. The canal off the spoil canal.
Jason, you like your Tidewater boat? My son Jason has a 22' Tidewater Carolina. Bought it @ Bentz. Lots of room, He put a Talon on, works pretty good. Keep the videos coming dude. From South Lafourche, take care.
That's the first fish I ever caught, and yes they taste great!
@@billyin4c514 definitely! I won’t let those go anymore!
Yeah man and on top of that they're not very hard to catch. it's almost like the catfish of the sea, you know what I'm saying? Doesn't take a lot of skill to catch but they're great to eat.
i got 5th place for fishing in grand isle a feww weeks ago... flounder and beautiful gator trout. reds were hard to find tho. got that 27.5 incher tho loll

Ever try the PowerLine Pilings outta Williams Blvd Launch. This time of year, they should be loaded up with fine reds and with the new regs, bet everyone would be a keeper, most being 18-22 inches!!Thanks for sharing your video, been watching numerous You-Tube videos and also working on getting my ole SouthFork flat back on de water!!Love jigging fish up from the Pilings, whether they are Causeway or PowerLine Pilings!!
@@anthonycyprusjr7829 I definitely need to try!
@@fishinwithferg6048 Here is a tip I stumbled upon. The Pilings are numbered and for some reason I always seemed to have more success at Pilings 54 and up heading West. Each set of pilings acts like an independent reef and soft plastics, sometimes tipped with Spike-It in Chartreuse makes a HUGE difference.I used to toss Zoom Flukes,Baby Bass colored and dyed the tails and reds shredded those lures. One time was headed back from incredibly successful Causeway trip,NShore, and my limit of 10 flounders had spit up bunch of glass minnows and the Zoom Fluke in Baby Bass came the closest to exact imitation of glass minners!!!
@@anthonycyprusjr7829 yeah man! There were loads of glass minnows and finger mullet my last trip out there!

Hey Ferg, I am going to visit my sister next week in Mandeville. Going to have an afternoon, to do some bank fishing. Any advice or tips on whats working would be very appreciated. I live in South Florida, so don't have much know how for that lake.
If you want to fish in Mandeville, go to Jackson street. Dead shrimp on bottom, or try cast netting mullet to use as live or cut bait. You can catch everything from big blue cats to black drum. The best fishing is later in the evening till about midnight. If you get bored soaking bait, have a swim bait handy and work the whole water column! It’s pretty basic and there aren’t many bank fishing spots out here unfortunately. Hope that helps! Were you at offshore mania this weekend in Navarre?
Make it a point to stop in at Marsh and Bayou! Tell em Ferg sent you. They have frozen bait if you want to try that, mullet, shrimp etc.
@@fishinwithferg6048 Appreciate the tips. Ill probably be taking swim baits and like artificial Shrimp (Vudu). If I have no luck on first day, will have to try and get some bait. You mean Jackson Avenue right? BY the boat launch? Thats what I had in mind to try and and go alongside Lakeshore Drive. And again thank you, as well if you are near by and are free on the Third in the afternoon. Let me know.
@@JonathanAKuhn Jackson ave. Is correct! Unfortunately i won’t be around, pre 4th of July event.

Yeah I see ya for sure I am coming bruh 😂😂😂
Come on man! Once the wind chill back out ima get back to it!
Was there not long ago. Wondered if you could fish there. I didnt see anyone fishing.
It’s a very good spot if you don’t have time to get out on the boat and just want to do some fishing.
@fishinwithferg6048 Wonder if be ok to fish from a kayak?
@@SkeletorJenkins I’ve seen people paddling. Bayou Saint John is a good spot to fish from the yak. It’s close to city park.
Still 5 reds 16 inches
Oh , nice. I received an email from the cca about the tagged reds saying that the fish tagged under 18” will disqualify you due to the new regs. Maybe they kick in later this year.
I just went online and those rules have not changed yet according to their own website, it hasn’t changed go to their flip book flip through it
what do you mean you can only keep four? I haven’t heard about that. Make that a rule yet. and if they did, that means you can’t keep anything under 18 inches they’re trying, but it hasn’t passed that I know.
I’m glad to hear it hasn’t passed yet. I received an email from cca saying that any tagged redfish for star under 18” will disqualify you due to new regulations. I took it as they passed it.
Takes effect June 20, 2024.
What’s the depth there?
It was between 10-13 ft

I’m headed to New Orleans to do exactly this next week! Trying to figure out which canals to hit
I see people fishing all along esplanade. That’s where I go, between Kenner and Metairie.

It was definitely a nice spring day!
them ground mullet is damn good eating!
Most definitely!
How’d the Victoria secret work? And which one? Lol. I get absolutely demolished by noseeums and mosquitos so I’ve been scouring the internet for solutions.
Go to marsh and bayou outfitters online and order some Marsh Romance! If you live near Mandeville, Louisiana that is where there shop is located. It’s my new go to for gnats. Amber Romance is the Victoria secret scent.
I actually just looked online and they didn’t have it on the shops website. It’s definitely in store though. Look up Hawk Soap, Marsh Romance.
@@fishinwithferg6048 I’m going to order both the Amber and Marsh romance soon lol. I’ll put them to the test! I got torn up on my last trip.
