i was bitten by a deer tick a day before a scheduled doctor's appointment so i removed the tick and put it in a ziplock and labeled it with the date, and circled the area of my body with a sharpie and took photos. when i woke up the next day i already had almost a complete bullseye rash. my doctor was so shocked and surprised at how well documented and prepared i was but still didn't want to give me the single pill it would take to nip lyme disease, until i pushed for it.

Do NOT put anything like petroleum jelly on the tick to make it "back out!" It will cause it to spit it's saliva/toxins into your body! Found that out the hard way & am now battling Lyme. Have also found out that if you drink cistus tea, you'll never get bitten because ticks hate the smell. Be careful out there - this is a really bad tick year - at least in the northeast!

Another way we were taught is to use cooking oil. We had that at camp. They would put it on the ticks body and the tick would back out. In the old days when a lot of people smoked the cigarette butt could be applied to the back of the tick and it would also back out.

It's beyond processing cross-contamination. Oats can be grown in range of wheatfields. Therefore crop rotation, harvesting and transportation equipment that is shared with different crops, Airborne particles from crops that are not gluten-free and impure seeds are some of the reasons why oats get contaminated in the fields.
