WS Podcast EP. 92 - Hidden Gems ~ Ouachita Mountains
Welcome Back to Wayward Stories!
It’s been a long six week hiatus, but we’re back! Life has been crazy and I’ve been running like a maniac trying to keep things on track, but excuses aside it’s time for a new episode. This week we’re going to talk about some truly hidden gems…since modern travel writers don’t seem to know what the term “hidden” actually means. We’re going to explore the Ouachita Mountains…the Ozarks much less known little sister.
Listen in now to hear all about it!

WS Podcast EP. 91 - Seize the Moments
zhlédnutí 29Před měsícem
Welcome Back to Wayward Stories! This week I embark upon both literal and philosophical adventures as I contemplate the importance of seizing the moments of our lives before they disappear like dust in the wind (see what I did there?). In addition to this philosophical sidetrack, we talk about some of my recent adventures as well as some of our listener’s adventures to boot! Listen in now to he...

Hiking the Gilbert RailTrail - Buffalo National River
zhlédnutí 117Před 3 měsíci
This is an experiential video of my afternoon hike down the Gilbert RailTrail, a 4-mile round trip hike down the abandoned grade of the Missouri & North Arkansas Railroad along the beautiful Buffalo National River. There are several extant remnants of the railroad that halted operations in the late 1940’s, including stacked stone culverts built in 1901-2 and the enormous, monolithic bridge pier...

Welcome Back to Wayward Stories! This week…well, we all know what happened this week. It was the much anticipated 2024 total solar eclipse, and it scurried its way right over my head in this great state of Arkansas. WS Podcast EP. 88 ~ Arkansas Backcountry Byways

Welcome back to Wayward Stories! A little sidetrack adventure a few weeks ago inspired an idea within me…more of a question really, at first. Why doesn’t Arkansas, with all of our glorious forestry roads and backcountry trails, have designated backcountry byways? A short fact-check indeed confirmed we have none so designated, so your ever-benevolent host (mòi) decided to designate a few of my f...

    I destroyed my ankle in a motorcycle accident and fixed it using barefoot shoes. Get into barefoot shoes and you'll never have ankle issues again. The huge platform created my those massive soles is the reason people twist their ankles. I know only wear sandals and low tops in warm weather.

    Spot on with "most comfortable" I do have those boots but never trusted them in water. However ; I have found the sole style on boot in the video are not lasting ; especially the Keen ''Men's Targhee III Oxford Low Hiking Shoes Dark Earth Mulch'' are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in many years for my rather board feet; BUT SADLY; the soles do not last (12 months) even if not used on stony/rocky/hill country and I'm very close to 71 years --- most dog walking and photography plus some bitumen/concrete . I'm on my second pair in something like 2 years! Keen Australia have actually sent me a "good will" pair I would love hear your thoughts on how long the soles actually last

    Inspiring podcast. It took me back to watching the eclipse fron the overlook of the little Grand Canyon just south of Jasper AR. It started out with about 5 cars that swelled to over 50. Hi sir your content is very nice and interesting. I like it very much. But one thing makes me feel very sad that you are regularly uploading videos with so much effort but your content does not have enough views, likes, comments. That is because your channel has several problems in your channel due to which the right audience is not coming to your channel. If you want I can work for your channel for free for 2-3 days on test basis.

I've been looking for the European ones, suffering with width. Now, I am in US for a few weeks, and had the opportunity to buy a pair of Targhee 3 for myself. Waiting for it to come, right after returning a La Sportiva Raptor II for running small and narrow toed.

    Hi sir, I checked your CZcams channel and found your content is very nice and you are uploading content regularly. But not getting any views on the video. Your channel does not have enough subscribers. Most of them I think are fake. Your channel has several problems due to which proper audience is not coming to your channel. So improve your channel, then you can earn good income from your channel. If any help please say I will try my best.

      @WaywardStories Před 4 měsíci

      Thank you my friend, I appreciate your kind words! War Eagle Creek is located in Northwest Arkansas, and the closest locale you could google and get good info and some idea for orienting yourself would be Eureka Springs. Great smallmouth fishing, beautiful scenery and smaller crowds than our more popular rivers. Ozark Adventure and Recreation (OAR) is a couple of great folks that have a small campground and handle outfitting on the creek. If you scroll back into my videos you’ll find a video from that day that is an experiential video from that days trip.

No disrespect to you but my heart hurts from the lies and paper genocide of the true inhabitants of this land. If you want to live in truth than start living the lies. Nice. I had a similar experience working in Philadelphia, MS. I'm part of a band of Choctaws but am very European looking... I attempted to visit the cave, but didn't press further beyond that gate. The next day, I asked some of locals with whom I was working, and they said that there was a murder that took place there a few months prior, and they had closed it off to outsiders since. This was about 5 years ago (a Google Maps notification popped up on my phone today to remind me it had been 5 years.). Thanks for the video! Well done!
