Farewell and Thank You, Promark & Evans
As of July 2024 I am no longer working with the D'addario company that is including Evans Drumheads, Promark Sticks, Puresound snare wires and SKB cases. The reasons behind the decision will be kept private but the decision was 100% amicable. For 9 years they took a leap of faith and backed what was a small idea that was born out of a few laughs over too many coffee's and I can't thank all of the staff enough for all they have done for me, this channel and my musical career.

Where you bought it for 400 buck wow I like buy one 😊
Get a bigger room
Sure, let me know how.
Try bandage/stickers removal liquid. It worked for me on Remo drumhead.
I checked out on of these at my local shop and I really like it. It feels great. Would you have any concern about that footboard breaking under someone with a really heavy foot? Maybe not literally heavy, but a heavy playing style.
Personally I don’t think so as carbon is really tuff but I guess if you were going Bobby Rokit and jumping on it then perhaps one day it might. Then again most pedals couldn’t take his abuse.
@IAMDRUMMER fair enough. Thanks for the reply.
Anytime, always happy to help where I can.
The logos on drum heads in general have gotten larger and more "in ppls faces" in the last... oh... 10 years maybe. Didn't used to be that way. Probably because of CZcams. They wana make sure the cam can pick that shit up.
Try Paint Thinner for nitrocellulose based paints and lacquers. Although I always had success even with acetone - just spill some over the label, leave it for a few seconds and wipe it with a cloth.
Bro, just the fact that you left Evans to go to Remo is a smack in the face that’s not an upgrade to downgrade… It’s not Reno guy versus Evans guy… But now you have to experience the woes of dealing with remo🤷🏽♂️
I didn’t leave Evans and I didn’t join Remo maybe see the attached video in the short.
He’s now testing other brands of heads, how is Evans no longer a sponsor a downgrade as this opens up so many more opportunities for this guy to explore Remo, Aquarian and I think even Attack.
Is it definitely on top? Any chance theres a clear ply on top of it?
There could be but being a PS3 ebony it would turn it in to a suede, hmmm might need to get out the dull knife from the junk drawer
I had the same issue but with Evans on my Yamaha but that’s because it didn’t fit and I couldn’t get the logo off.
This guy uses Goof Off to remove an Evans Logo here. But it still seems to be a bit of work to remove it. Maybe that helps - czcams.com/video/wMMA3ivmBF4/video.htmlsi=EqUC0ZANmqxuGNaw&t=81
Good call, I heard lacquer thinner will take it straight off.....here's hoping.
😂
Excellent snare and playing man! Is there chanse try this tuning on my snare maybe look for Hz-top and Hz-bottom pls
Thanks brother I appreciate the kind works, I’m not familiar with TubeBit settings but I have one and I’ll try and work it out for you.
I Currently Have those Evans UV1 Heads on My Pearl Reference Drum's. I'm Going Back to Evans Clear Head's, I Like their Sound Better
I’ve been using the UV1’s and 2’s and prefer the UV1 out if the two but clear G1 top and bottom is what I like.
The HH has a more pleasant sound more refined if you will. Both great tho
I’ve used both a lot and they are both brilliant cymbals but the HH has one advantage over the K, you can still buy it.
Almost 300 grams, more than I thought.
Feels really light under the right foot that’s for sure.
What’s the weight difference to the normal 5000?
Good question as they do feel lighter to play that’s for sure.
Good choices so far IMO.
Thank man, just need to install them.
Ya mine snapped apart years ago lol
I haven't snapped one on the Vinnie....Yet!
I love them . I don’t care about tuning as I do it anyway pre show etc . I am waiting on a new cob 60 s snare & thinking about going for the thinner ( more exxy ) one to see if it really opens up the drum . Probably get some thicker ( normal ) for bass drums . I now play unported so the air & bottom end , rebound etc will be interesting. I’m in Sydney btw . They are great for press rolls too . Diligence with seating them I think is important . Thanks 🙏
I am going to try some more when I can get my hands on them.
Sad day brother. It's like when you boil the kettle, forget you boiled it and then try to boil it again. Then realise the kettle is already boiled and you can make coffee.
What’s your take on this cymbal vs. it’s smaller brother the 21” Anniversary ride? For my ears, this sounds more pleasing than the 21”
I prefer it’s bigger brother as the wash and bell for that matter sound and feel more refined.
@@IAMDRUMMER Thanks for the reply man! I just wish they weren’t so rare to find 😭
Mine was new at a music store for a long time and I think they had a couple in stock, not sure if they would now though.
Time to check out Aquarian. They make great drum heads.
Already on it.
Oh I will be, shame they aren't well stocked though.
@IAMDRUMMER it's unfortunate that they can be hard to find. I really like the texture coated single ply heads and the super kick 1.
Can’t believe it but as you said the adventure begins.
As sad as I am there is some excitement lurking in the drum shadows.
Go to remo or code or aquarian and vic firth or rohema
Remo stock is already on its way.
@@IAMDRUMMER Awesome
Also the tension rods don’t look straight
They are straight, no issues with the rods.
People not thinking the name Dw(collectors). It’s meant to be played and to collect as well because they will go up on value overall. My buddy Sergio bought a brass or metal snare for 500-600 and now it’s worth 1300. And he also bought a snare that was like 800 or so and now it’s 2400. That’s why musicians buy certain gear because they’ll just go up in value besides the fact they love it
4k for it? It better be better than this 1-2k paiste ride that is rare.
What kind of camera is this?
I like this system of dampening. However, I did not like the sound of this snare drum for this demonstration. Player was solid. Thank You!
It's a very much a personal choice and I like the snareweight but the cost of it here is on the expensive side of life.
Those right angle ones are brilliant.
I have had my eye on them for years and always I am a bit slow on the uptake.
IMO, no need to wait. M2 will crush it right now.
Ordered and will be crushing soon.
$400 was a super deal
Tell me about it, there were three boxes stacked up and nothing on the box except it said Reference, could have been brass, steel or this 20 ply. Talk about bloody lucky especially when it was the wife’s idea to stop and have a look at the sale.
Both, and when the new one comes sell me the studio cheap. ;)
You never know your luck.
@@IAMDRUMMER I don’t actually need another computer, just saying.
The M3 Max MacBook pro won't be a bad choice IMO
I was thinking that but I have had a laptop for song long and running multiple monitors is a must right now, also my legs sometimes get a little toasty.
@@IAMDRUMMERyou can run multiple monitors with the M3 Max, the lower models are limited to 2 displays. The M-series laptops don’t heat up much, intel was a very different story.
Even the base model Mac Studio M2 Max will work perfectly for recording, mixing and producing o/ Enjoy ( I also didn' t wait for M3)
I ordered one, can't freaking wait.
