Broken Cruise Cable caused Stuck Open Throttle on 2002 Mercury Sable/ Ford Taurus
The plastic mounting clip for the cruise control cable broke and got stuck on when throttle was push down hard and would not realize causing a stuck wide open throttle. I got a good replacement from the junkyard for a couple dollars however if you want to buy new there’s an amazon product that is a direct replacement just enter the product number listed below and you can find it it’s about $20 at time of this video. Easy fix for a dangerous problem here. Thanks guys and good luck!

Replace Gear Indicator Lightbulb on 2004 Chevy Classic Malibu
zhlédnutí 4,3KPřed 6 lety
This is a video of how to replace the light bulb on a 2004 Chevy Classic Malibu gear indicator in under 5 minutes. I removed the bulb with the pliers then afterward decided to make the video but didn't want to remove the same bulb twice, otherwise this was done in real-time. The two pack of bulbs was $4.99 at local auto part store. I believe this style is the same for 2000-2003 Chevy Malibu. Ch...

What a total waste of time. The little amount of filler you put under the edge of the slab will sink once you have a reasonable rainfall. All that filler will wash further under the slab.

How would you know that what you threw under is enough and well distributed to have the concrete slab leveled when it's lowered?

This happened to me just 2 hours ago. I was lucky I survived. Same thing happened 12 years ago when a mechanic was test driving the car. I replaced the cable 12 years ago, and it broke again today. Ford really needs to address this problem. I wonder how many drivers have been killed or maimed because of this. A new cable cost $12. So there is no reason to risk your life with a used cable from the junk yard. That plastic clip is obviously a weak link, and a used cable will certainly break in due time.

When the gray plastic cracked on mine i thought nothing about repairing it with some epoxy resin. Two years later it cracked again while i was driving in traffic. It wedged the throttle wide open and i ended up warping a rotor trying to get it to stop. Needless to say i replaced the cable immediately

From what I’ve seen, you can just use a couple of scissor jacks to raise the slab up.

Of course we all know that OSHA standards only apply to employers and not homeowners. Also, owners of companies do not have to personally comply with OSHA standards. Which I think is a travesty .

Thanks for posting this. I was able to level off our sidewalk with the help of this video. I incorporated a couple of revisions and it worked out great! Instead of straps, I used heavy duty chain. I originally tried it with an old 4x4, but it split. I had another old 4x4 and tried again with a 2x4 screwed to it and it was enough reinforcement to lift the sidewalk and then backfill with gravel/sand mixture. My sidewalk is now nice and level.

Thank you. I believe there's a small screw on the back underside of the handle that you remove and then it slides up and off.
