Playing games with the wrong controllers on the RetroN 5
Just how does controller and button mapping work on the RetroN 5? What kinds of controllers are compatible? We stretch the little emulation console to its limits with our experiments.

Its the Famicom boot sound slowed down to be relaxing and ambient. Damn I miss when nintendo did this kind of stuff
The japanesse nes Startup i think, i love this easter egg!
Of course the 1983 famicom disc system edit:The cube likes to dance
Watching this for the first time now, some real late 2000 / early 2010's youtube vibe. Love it. Brings me back to college. I was looking for more explanation on the minus world on the FDS version and this did exactly that. Thank you!
NINTENDO NES!
I finally, FINALLY... just got myself a Famicom Disk System (the addon / console) earlier today, after what feels like an eternity of wanting one (I remember first getting the Gameboy Advance port of Super Mario Bros. 2 / The Lost Levels back around 2005-2007?, and it was part of that "Famicom Mini" series of Gameboy Advance ports of Famicom games, their equivalent of the Classic NES Series we got - anyway, I think it was that long time ago that I started wanting an FDS system), and after having an AV Famicom for the last 2 years now. I just wish that the games were cheaper, like holy crap, $62 for a "complete" copy of Castlevania (Akumajou Dracula)!? Oh, and especially All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros., I can't get over how expensive that one is. But shit, like even Yume Koujou: Doki Doki Panic, for a nice, complete copy...
Yeah, those FDS prices are nuts. All the disks ever manufactured are now past their supposed max life, so it’s only going to get worse as bit rot claims more and more of them.
5:50 It’s not either of those. Johann Sebastian Bach - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.
does it work on PC ?
I think the website says it does, but I haven’t gotten it to work.
FDS
🙌
How do you collect Famicom and FDS stuff? Including the hardware?

NES
Technically correct, but not correct.
IT WAS A FAMICOM
It was!
And also nes
Not really, though!
It's famicon disk system
Yep!
Other games like Lode Runner, Nuts & Milk and Arkanoid II have a level editor system implemented in those games, and they take advantage of the Data Recorder. One more game took advantage of the Data Recorder and that was Family BASIC, the game that came bundled with the Famicom keyboard.
We REALLY gotta do that part 2 video… it’s been almost 10 years since this one!
I got too many and then died and my game was over
That can happen, unfortunately.
with fds be ready for refund
alphabet song
*it works cos it's a real Game Boy people jammed on a Super NES!* 💡
Facts!
Famicom disk system 👇
Kiddo stop trying to get likes
I've done with between a super gameboy 2 and a GameCube gameboy player.
Is that you, Famicom Disk System?
:D

Finally! Family friendly sexual content. :D
For everyone!
Yo Sean n vinnk I bought used discs with 3 labels on some of them. Wanted Castlevania got lunar pool
😂 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Say, work a Super Gameboy 2 on a Pal Super Nintendo? Someone say yes and an other one say no. So what is right?
This is s fantastic question that is not as simple as it seems. Conventional wisdom says that you would need a PAL cart to play on a PAL system, BUT since the Super Game Boy 2 has its own CPU and effectively uses the SNES as a “passthrough” it may be possible that an NTSC cartridge will work. We should track down a PAL SNES and do some experiments…
Nintendo Entertainment System
Close!
sweet xD
Right??
It’s kinda cool I watched this video when it was new before my accounts existence
That just means it’s oooooooold. (Like us!) Hopefully you’re subscribed on the new account to see all the awesome new stuff we’re gonna release this year! ;)
PSTV?
By that metric, even the main body of the Switch is smaller!
@@FamicomDojo Or the entire body of the Switch Lite? Maybe by volume? Does the Ouya count as a "console"? AV Nintendo is pretty small. Genesis 3?
@@FamicomDojo Lol, I forgot the contents of the actual video.
Who knows. It was so long ago…
groovy...
Amazing 😮
Nintendo?.. Whaaat?, a line to remember
There are several ways to block the Minus World from appearing. A. You could have the game do an invalid world number check under the "SkipSprite0" subroutine (we first add a sprite 0 hit detect flag check under "Sprite0Clr" that will tell us to branch if zero to the "CheckInvalidWorldNum" subroutine), which ensures that any world byte loaded into A at RAM $075F which is not between 00 and 07 (for world 1 thru 8) will trigger the "TerminateGame" subroutine that will return the game to the title screen. This was present in both Super Mario Bros. 2 ("The Lost Levels") and All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. I tried this method when doing both the Minus World and when continuing (A+Start) an invalid world by booting from the title screen via cold start, and it worked perfectly! B. Remove the INC command from the "WarpZoneObject" routine, which means that until the "WELCOME TO WARP ZONE" text appears, the three pipes will instead function the same as the goal pipe, returning the player to the end of World 1-1 when entered. This fix was present in both Super Mario Bros. 2 ("The Lost Levels") and All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. C. Add extra code from Super Mario All-Stars under "HandlePipeEntry" (right after the BEQ to end routine early if $06D6 has no value stored) which duplicates the warp zone text code, which will overwrite the buggy value currently in $06D6 (which was still $01 when the wall-walk glitch was performed) with the correct value and send the player to the intended world instead (the left pipe to world 4).
2:39 aged well, lol
Kohler called it!
What is under the dreamcast with 2 dials?
It’s a karaoke add-on. It connected to an online service, and you could sing along by attaching mics. Unfortunately, the service only existed in Japan, and is long-since-defunct.
@FamicomDojo thanks so much for replying was trying to find out on google what it was lol.
Dood get to the point jesus
If it helps, we are working on a much more straightforward update as we speak. While these instructions still work (once we get to them), the process is so much more streamlined now, and there are so many more consoles to choose from.
