Taiwan Makes American Trucks Great Again! Tour of Sheet Metal and Replacement Parts Factories
zhlédnutí 388KPřed měsícem
We've all wondered what parts manufacturing looks like overseas. With so much of our classic truck (and car) parts being produced in Taiwan, our team at Classic Truck Performance decided it was time to jump on a 14 hour flight and brave the food options to find out for ourselves. Our trip focused on visiting factories producing reproduction sheet metal for classic cars and trucks but our advent...
Installing a Golden Star Classic Auto replacement grille on a 47-53 Chevy pickup.

Before and After ... the @goldenstarclassicauto '47-53 Chevy grille gave our '48 three-window custom that oh-so fresh 'n' clean look it desperately needed (compared to with the base-model solid gray grille). Speaking of Golden Star, we're off to Taiwan today to visit the facilities where some of the sheetmetal is stamped, and we'll also get a firsthand, behind-the-scenes look at how the new Bla...

How to Optimize Your Return(less) Investment With an In-Tank Aeromotive Fuel System. I prefer messing around with carbs (in my vehicles AND in my gut!).So, when I acquired my ’48 Chevy, one of the first things I was asked if I was going to replace was the unique Edelbrock tunnel ram and 600-cfm four-barrel. My response was simple: Why? It runs and well, to be quite honest, so I’ll probably stic...
How to build a Stainless Steel exhaust system for your hot rod or classic trucks

ack in October of last year I made arrangements with Paul Bosserman, my friend who just happens to own the family run Old Anvil Speed Shop in my old stomping grounds of Orange, California, to do a “couple” things on my then-dormant ’48 Chevy project. (I’d acquired the chopped ’n’ bagged three-window over a year prior. Due to its needing way more than advertised to put it back on the road, I cho...

The best and easiest on-car tool we have used for double flaring brake lines.

There are several great flaring tools on the market, but when it comes to double-flaring tubing on a vehicle, this compact, On-Vehicle Flaring Tool from Granatelli Motor Sports works great when space is at a premium. Three steps are required to form an inverted flare using Granatelli’s tool. First, the tubing is inserted into the tool against a stop that sets the depth of the tubing. Next, the ...

“Out in the West Texas town of El Paso, Rick’s built a custom stainless tank for our truck …” We apologize to Marty Robbins and any fans, but we couldn’t resist humming the line from his gun-slinging ballad “El Paso,” which is famously set at Rosa’s Cantina (still in operation). In fact, if you were to stagger out of Rosa’s after a couple tacos and cold ones, Rick’s Tanks is just a few clicks u...

Too cool! Truck looks great!
This is the company I had make the one piece besides for the 66-77 Bronco. This took a year and a half to make. Now they won't sell it directly to me. Kevin Lo sells it to wild Horses and Tom's Bronco only. Makes absolutely no sence.
Thank you Taiwan for making these parts available.
Out of sight ! Man nice truck. Clean
This video was so inspiring but then they hit you w/ the most randomest shit like building a hotrod bathroom stall lol
And so, it goes, Mr. GT has beat us at our own game. well done sir. take a lesson here folks. when was the last time you bought a toaster that toasted worth a crap. Mr. GT makes the best. cheap. cause he owns the molds.
I have some evidence to contribute. With BICYCLE parts, the Taiwanese parts are better - a cultural thing because they want to be superior to mainland China. I am sure this carries over to automotive body parts as well. I can also attest that Taiwanese reproduction headlamps are excellent.
Wow this is amaizing
im modding/ referbishing my fathers 1993 dodge dakota nd i was suprised my tail and head light housings came from taiwan
Well done. We used to do manufacturing like that here in the USA but we were promised the information economy and all we got was misinformation.
Wow....absolutely brilliant....wishing you all the success
There is no good reason, the big three, couldn't be selling, aftermarket sheet metal parts, and whole bodies.. Ignore the David Sawyer guys comment below.. Ford or GM, would sell these parts and bodies, as components, just like Mr. GT here.. They could have same disclosures and legal protections Mr. GT, Dynacorn and all of the others.. They just can't be bothered, they're to busy cramming electric vehicles, we never asked for down us consumers throats. And besides, they're too distracted looking down they're noses, at us hobby types, that have real money 💰... They won't, because too "woke", to see the opportunity.... Ford cancelled they're best selling Edge, just because, they are thought if they deprived us of that popular gas engine car, we'd just be inclined to buy their first gen, crappy electric vehicles, rushed to market, not fully tested and vetted. This is what happens, when Government, forces bad policy on an entire American manufacturing industry... They deserve the economic failure their destined for...
Remember when Americans made their own products.
Foxbody please
No American workers
reason is Taiwan cheaper labor . non union nonsense. No woke managers.
❤
Frank. YEAH RIGHT 😂
Not American made, that’s a nogo for me
Funny the MAGA crowd can't build their "American" trucks without foreign parts.
I was pretty sold after watching this video. While attempting to order one I saw they were a lil more expensive than AMD but I have a cheap door that's cracked and now need a good door. Then I read the Google reviews. Apparently these guys are more expensive because they're eggplants, not because they're better. I suggest reading the Google reviews
The American attitude today is why bother getting of my fat lazy arse when I can get the Chinese to make it cheap, mark it up, make a profit, and say to myself, look at me, aren't I just one mart little American, meanwhile China is leaving the US behind in their dust, wakeup America.
❤❤❤
gotta keep Xi away from Taiwan. it's a tech power house of chips, computers and now classic cars. and a free and independent nation.
Life isn't about the mourning of ashes, its about the preservation of fire. These guys are preserving the fire. Great episode!
Lonestar 20 inch wheels look really good on this cars....better dream big like size that wheels when you don't have money in your pocket...look really good.

Thank you so much for this video
Ok..why the pieces not still being made in america...anybody... well.
I was wondering wear gm Ford sent there presses
Modern Taiwanese hand tools are excellent.
I always knew this could be done and should be done . Congrats to Muscle Car G T .
As a past dealer mechanic, I checked a new Dodge pickup exhaust length at the tailpipe cold and compared it just of the highway hot. That factory stainless gained 3/4" in length hot!! Flex joints help but I wouldn't stress them without doing like the oems do. A round rod positioned horizontally and inline front to back and in a rubber grommet, usually like the figure "8". Almost no one does exhaust hanging like the big 3 oems!

Hi ya ⛳
Love the factories producing classic car parts. However, the workers should be wearing safety goggles all the time, especially those that are doing spot welding
As much as the American people favor Donald Trump as the next president,, we the people do not want him to raise tariffs on Chinese products,, it will only hurt the American people and the manufacturers...
I find hard-working Chinese people,, build a good quality items for far less money..
excellent!
GREAT VIDEO ROB!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
TOTALLY AWSOME IDEA!!!! SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE!!!! PASS THE TORCH!!!!
Nothing short of totally awesome, an incredible series of teams of craftsmen dedicated to keeping classics from over 50 years ago on the road. Total respect.
Great video. Hope for the best for the people of Taiwan.😍
Although I'm not a consumer of these particular products, it's nice to see you supporting our Taiwanese brothers and sisters. As an American, I stand by Taiwan and its dependence! It's awesome that they get the tooling from American auto manufacturers. Everything should include the right to repair.
It would be awesome to see patch panels produced that didn't require crazy work to fit! I will try this company next time I need them for my trucks. Good video, thanks!
I like the QA1 system better 👍
