I’m from Scotland and live in Berkshire and I agree I love walking in the countryside in England. So many estates, country Manor House’s and the weather is just gorgeous! I also love the scenery in Scotland too and the rivers.

Not all of Britain is the same okay, in North Wales we have close to 17hrs.

I love strawberries too, but I much prefer tropical fruits like mangosteens, rambutans, soursops, sugar apples, durians, etc. They are so expensive in North America and Europe too.

You know what's funny. I've been on a stag do to Brussels with one of my best friends this weekend who moved his life, not knowing anyone to Singapore in 2015 and is moving back with his wife he met in CBD this Christmas. We talked about exactly what you said, he felt very grateful for the opportunity to experience living there for essentially his entire 20s. He didn't feel like moving back to the UK was a negative it was a next step instead of a backwards step.

You already won life's lottery by having been born in the UK, and into what appears to be a lovely family. So there is no "failing" to talk of, in moving back. I am originally from China, and I wish moving back to my native country is a viable option, but it is not. Moving countries can be a tremendously sad process. 6 years ago in June 2018, I moved from Singapore to Canada, and the night before the flight, I was bawling my eyes out, to be leaving a country that in some ways had meant so much for me. Six years later, I still somewhat grieve for the life (and the version of myself) that I gave up. But in the grand scheme of things, with all things considered, it was the right decision to move on.

Where do you live in UK? Are you coming back for good ? Love your channel.

While you have been on an amazing journey, the people back home (not talking about family) have not. Your experience gained somehow has a lesser value as others, never having made such a leap, don’t know, understand or care just how big your journey was. Be ready to accentuate the positives, your lessons learned but be ready for some disappointments in the professional sphere. No one will hand you anything, even if your experience warrants it.

Another chapter of your life. Wishing you Happy journeys! When I came back to sg from the UK after my studies, I did have a reverse culture shock. 😅 . So did my (now) wife when she moved back from the States after 10 yrs. While she had a green card and a stable profession, she moved back for similiar reasons to yours. So again, happy journeys!
