Mimkut, the premier festival of the Kuki community, is usually celebrated on 17th January with much pomp and gaiety.
The video presented here is one such held at Phaipijang Village, Dimapur on Jan. 17, 2024, with Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Retd.), Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Dept, Government of Nagaland as the Special Guest of the day-long function.
The Special Guest was accorded traditional honour with a palanquin ride till the dais. The other events shared here include songs and dances which are revered by the community.
My special acknowledgement goes to Rokolhoulie Zumu without whom this short clip would never see the light of day!

I'd put attention to the usage of modern clothing, because they are a bad cultural pollution especially in context of a traditional dance or gathering. It would be really amazing if the original traditional clothing would be more strict for these festivals, otherwise every generation will be less and less careful about originality of the tradition.
Exactly said 🙏👍 Unless people realise the importance to preserve and use or showcase it as revered traditional attires, a time will come when future generations would wonder how, where or why they are adorned at specific times.

That depends on what you personally want to see from him, the quality you desire from him so to say. Everyone is unique and has his/ her own capabilities. The person in question is more of action oriented for public welfare. As elected leader of a large constituency, it's said one can never satisfy the wants of every individual and the same goes for him too. The best is to search and locate the nest and later, eradicate the whole nest of hornet. And as long as it can't be located, we have to kill them with rackets, etc manually.
@@nagalandcolours4746Yes I did that only. I have seen vespa tropica attack my bees also here in Assam but I have never seen so many of these hornets together. I think the nest is located somewhere nearby this box.
@@nagalandcolours4746 About 1 month ago I found a solution for these hornets. It is to cover the box with a nylon net of 1 square centimeter. I have used a fishing net and it works well. The hornets are not able to catch bees now and if they do, they are caught by the bees in a ball.
