Each have their merits. Carb still delivers the best power but you have all the extra maintenance with jetting for altitude, carbs getting dirty etc TPI now the different compression heads and maps exist are a well known and pretty reliable platform but still aren’t going to replicate how a carb rides. TBI has more grunt than TPI out of the box but isn’t quite as good as a carb however you still get all the modern conveniences of just being able to fuel it and go. For me if I was picking I think it would be the TBI. As far as an all rounder goes, they’re hard to beat

Cheers Darren. I always try to look for other lines where there might be bottle necks on the track walk. Just takes one person to get stuck in front of you to ruin your race if you just sit and wait for them!

I’ve seen that done but it’s more hassle to remove a wheel than to move the bars. I have a plan that will make loading the bike much easier that I’ll go over in a future episode

It's the old KTM group fuel injection system (TPI) vs the new TBI system. TPI (transfer port injection) injects fuel directly into the combustion chamber through the transfer port whereas TBI (throttle body injection) injects fuel into the engine at the point of the throttle body. The biggest complaint with TPI bikes was that despite their performance and efficiency, there wasn't a lot of torque down low with them which led to people chasing power by installing different compression heads and remapping the ECU. TBI bikes are much closer in terms of low down grunt of a carbureted 2 stroke, while still having all the benefits of fuel injection (e.g. no jetting, no need for pre-mix etc). Don't get me wrong, it's still not the same as riding a carb'd bike, but there is a noticeable difference in low down power straight out of the box!

100% - a friend of mine has just bought a Santa Cruz acoustic bike which has all the same components that are on this, but it cost £1,000 more and doesn't come with a battery!

No offence taken. The rear triangle of the frame could be better looking in my opinion but otherwise I think it’s a great looking bike.

looks better than a lot of the Built in fs bikes out there, if you want ugly bikes look at haibikes.

@@mikethomas6051yeh haibikes look awful. The look of a bike is so important when you’re paying £4-5k+. Especially when you spend lots of time wanting to stare at it in admiration

@@timmayers4965 Indeed, I couldn't bring myself to pay out for one of these, I chose to go the conversion route and built my own e-bike, I stare at mine too much lol its become my new mirror :) oddly the best compliment I had was from a small group of road cyclists, I didn't need to spend anywhere near 4-5 grand on that get that admiration.

@@tonyroig3244 can't see why anyone would say its unreliable tbh - it uses the same Sram components that are found on all higher end MTBs and while I haven't done a lot of research on the durability of the motors, I would trust the Yahama systems over almost all the other manufacturers!

I got 5 year warranty and frame is life time 😊

@@hermanmuenster1405 Only put 50km on trail 3 so far since we have winter still happening. But enjoying it so far. Motor seems to have enough power and suspension and general handling also seem good. Chipping it with VOLspped 3 next week. Were I live is flat and hitting that speed limter is so annoying. How about yours.

I’ve been really impressed with it so far. Keep an eye on the channel in the coming weeks as I’ll be doing a proper review once I get a bit more time on it!

@@chrispederson4157 the motor pulls like a train, I was really shocked how easy it makes climbs, battery life is so much longer than I expected. Only issue I would have with the motor is the speed limiter at 16mph makes it difficult to build speed after that but I’m sure there’s ways and means to raise this, just never looked into it. At 35% off I’d say you’re getting a hell of a bike for the money. The fox suspension is ace and the 150mm travel is more than enough for pretty much everything other than the very gnarliest of jump lines

7500 cartridges are designed as the upgrade for the new XACT forks. They have cone valve tech in them as the new forks come stock with a closed cartridge which is something similar to the 6500 upgrade. This years GASGAS still uses the older XPLOR Open Cartridge forks so your options are to goto a 6500 kit or to goto a full WP Pro XPLOR Cone Valve fork which is around 3 times the price. For a rider of my level, the benefits I would get from them versus the cost doesn't really add up so the the 6500 cartridge gives me the most bang for your buck. I'm currently running stock gearing and I'm very happy with it. May try out a few different sprocket sizes in the future but I haven't felt the need to so far!

@@clrrk I know, I just came off a 2022crf250R and now a 23tm125mx. Compared to the rigid Honda frame and stiff showa suspension I’d buy 10 tm’s over another Honda
