Excellent Anthrax albums ranking there! Their 80's albums up to Persistence of Time are untouchable IMO. I'm not surprised to see Stomp.... & Vol 8.... being so low in the list.

Can't argue with the top three which are my go to Anthrax albums. I didn't think the albums that came after Among The Living were that great and I lost interest entirely after Belladonna left. Still have the first five albums on vinyl. 1. Spreading The Disease 2. Among The Living 3. Fistful Of Metal 4. Persistence Of Time 5. State Of Euphoria

I deem Scorpions to be a Hard Rock band. If the title was Hard'n'Heavy bands I wouldn't have a problem with them being on this list. But if you see them as a Metal band, it is also your prerogative. Also only 3/4 of the Teutonic Four? I'd like Tankard to be on the list but it is your list at the end of the day, to each your own. And Running Wild is not on the list which is a bummer.

Assassin and dust bolt are both great German thrash metal bands too

Great top 10 bands from Germany. I was pleasantly surprised to see Rammstein in there. Great band. Good to see Primal Fear, Exumer, Scorpions and Helloween. Those bands don't get enough credit IMO. Lastly, I'm glad to see Kreator at number 1.

When it comes to the NWOBHM, you missed a true gem; On Through the Night by Def Leppard. And it was released in 1980; the year of NWOBHM.

I think you've covered all bases on this list really. I would add More's debut 'Warhead' and the Praying Mantis debut 'Time Tells No Lies' which is more melodic but features some great guitar work. Number Of The Beast is easily my favourite album of this era..

Not even bringing up Veil of Imagination's brilliant orchestral element that permeates the entire album is an odd choice.

I've always known about Babymetal and like you I couldn't get into them. I enjoy Korn and Slipknot now than when I was a teenager. For whatever reason; I didn't give Korn or Slipknot a chance as a teenager. But now as a adult; I've grown to appreciate their music more. Yeah, I can see Meshuggah being very divisive among the fanbase. Definitely one of those bands you either love or hate.

Agree with you on all those bands, I'd add Pantera to the list, never got into them.

Ive never heard anything Babymetal has ever done and never will. As far as the rest of these i like korn slipknot is kind of a love hate thing and the rest i can definitely do without.

I have this type of band too. To put it simply, I cannot warm up to Metallica, one of the most listened to "metal" bands in the world. To me it's hard rock or something. I will probably be lynched for this thought, but it does not fit my understanding of metal music.

It's too bad these guys wouldn't take their song lyrics and let someone else edit them after a song is written. The song ideas are often good, but most of the lyrics sound like they're written by a sixth-grader. These guys are good musicians and I actually like Lip's vocals (prefer them to be down in the mix though). But it gets hard to listen to quickly because of the cheesy lyrics and repetition. Every single song's chorus is just repeating the song title over and over ad nauseum. Their last few albums have been that way. I agree with your review.

Oh wow! I remembered those Big Shiny Tunes compilations that Muchmusic used to put out back in the day. Nice bunch of Black Label Society albums. I'm not a Black Label Society fan but I do like a few songs from them. Amon Amarth, Ozzy Osbourne, Sepultura, Carnifex, Deep Purple, Motorhead, Death Angel, Machine Head, Meshuggah and Trivium. Lots of good stuff in this one!

I have Daughtry's first 2 albums. My latest pickups are non metal Taylor Swift - Evermore Taylor Swift - Folklore Madonna - Bedtime Stories And 1 metal shirt I found in a Goodwill which is a Visions of Atlantis shirt. Would've also grabbed an Electric Wizard but I was told it would've worn out fast.
