How to fix the LG Dishwasher FE Error, Fill Error
zhlédnutí 54KPřed 6 lety
I checked all over the internet and could not find a good way to solve this issue so I made this video after I figured it out. IF you have the FE error, don't buy anything!!! clean your floats in about 30 minutes for free and most likely will solve your issue.

Thank you for posting this! Not only did this easy fix clear the fe error code, it has solved a long- standing problem of poor cleaning performance. I just unloaded the cleanest load of dishes I've seen in a very long time.
Thanks for the help, you probably saved me hundreds! 💴
How did you get the clips to stay open? I can't get more than two pulled away at a time.
which clips are you talking about?
@benwilliams2260 sorry. The clips for the computer board
@@dougm4217 push the board up and press the clips out, they are just spring force. watch the two pieces of the board on one end that stick through the housing.
@@benwilliams2260 OK, thank you sir!
Worked like a charm, float assembly was filled with muck. Cleaned and draining/filling like new. Thanks!
I _think_ I was able to drain the water from the bottom hose by running the “drain” / “cancel” feature before starting work: it runs the drain pump for 45 seconds and my hose was dry when I finally got it apart (although also full of gunk). On my model, that was holding “Normal” and “Delicate” for 3 seconds. Thanks for the video, it was crucial in fixing our dishwasher today 🎉
I have like this watch but its very difficult to set the time perfect...help
Worked! Thank you!
Great, clear, useful video. Unclogged the float container which was completely packed with jelly-like goop. I also disconnected and cleaned the hose leading to it form the pump, which also had a lot of goop, I disconnected and cleaned the other plastic tank as well. The dishes now come out clean without little bits of dried stuff stuck to them. It hasn't worked this well in years. I wish the FE error had happened sooner and i had found your video sooner, Now I'll just keep those tanks and hose clean on a regular basis, like once a year.
Super helpful video and clear instructions. This Fixed my “fill error” problem. Thanks for sharing to help us out
GREAT info - The hardest part of the process was getting the piece on the inside of the dishwater unscrewed. I worried that everything is made of plastic and the DW is about 15 years old but all went well!! THANK YOU!!
I thought the whole point of a radio controlled watch was that it sets itself.
You just have to set it to the correct TIME-ZONE, if need be (it's set for the Central because that's the one that La Crosse, Wis. is in) and everything should work just PERFECTLY! Mine does!!! 😎 ❤ ⌚
Thanks
Tengo una arranca pero se para
Where's the link to buy that relay

Sir, I wanna THANK YOU for this video. Followed your instructions and worked like charm. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN..🙏🙏
Does this fix apply to a PF error?
I didn't have that error. The dryer would just stop and start on its own
This kitchen looks 95% identical to my kitchen. Did I buy my house from you? 😆
Help my
Really helpful video. Often all we need is a little help. I’ve just completed this exact repair. The plastic body was so full of gunk that one of the floats was stuck. Since this was a dishwasher out of a rental apartment, I do not know if it was giving the previous users trouble. I am guessing it had to have given trouble given the amount of crud I removed. I’ve been cleaning this LG dishwasher prior to installing it into another apartment and just happened to spot the dirt inside this component. It caused me some concern so I started to dig into it more. At first I did not know the name of the part or it’s function. A few minutes on Mr. Internet and I had the direction I needed. Thank you for having posted this video. In Toronto, a new “float assembly costs $60.00.
Is there an address that I can send mine for a fix. The buttons on mine do not work as described in this video
I'm not aware of anywhere to send them, this is just the version I have. maybe someone else will know of someplace. good luck, let us know if you find a place.
Thank you, it was really helpful 😊 ☺️
Thanks this was exactly the issue with my dishwasher. Thank You!!!!!
I guess this was sorta helpful. I at least seem to have managed to set my fathers watch correctly. We’ll see.
By the time you've set the bloody thing it's too late to go anywhere. What a joke.....
Thanks man. Still saving people $$$.
This is an excellent video. There are a lot of more complicated videos that totally miss this problem. I have had problems with FE errors for quite a while, mostly overcome by using the power scrub cycle, but even that has been failing lately. Checking the float chambers, they were much worse than this, with thick gooey gunk in both and all over both floats. 10 minutes with some Dawn, hot water and an old toothbrush got them all back to clean and functional. I also brushed out the pipe. All cycles work, no FE errors.
I followed your instructions display. But, all I did was clean the transistors board with a wire brush and cleaned all debris inside the whole Dryer. Inside out. Plugged back and Boom!!!! Drying again. Thanks!!!
Thanks Ben, this video has saved my butt twice over 4 years hahaha
Worked for me too. Thanks for sharing. The floats on mine were horrible shape. I ran into a leak issue on the reinstall. This was due to the gasket for the grate that attaches from the inside was a tad dry. I simply cleaned it really well and added some Vaseline to the gasket and the threads and it sealed right up.
Where did you buy the remplacement piece?
I purchased the relay from Amazon. here is the link. If you end up needing the entire circuit board, check ebay, they usually run less than 100. www.amazon.com/TE-CONNECTIVITY-POTTER-BRUMFIELD-T9AS1D12-12/dp/B00K1RBV8M/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3JAXT9UBM6L9I&keywords=T9AS1D12-12&qid=1669058403&s=industrial&sprefix=t9as1d12-12%2Cindustrial%2C80&sr=1-4
Can't thank you enough. You saved me at least $100 (if not more) for home warranty service call. The feeling of being able to do this myself is also satisfying.
This is a good how-to video, but I'd add that the vinyl seal ring for the fitting in the side of the tub (inside) is very thin, and the original in my machine wouldn't reseat on re-assembly and continued to leak even after I opened it up and tried to get it to seal. I recommend having a new replacement on hand. I also recommend doing a leak test before putting the dishwasher back in place.
Thanks for the great video. Do you have to disconnect the water supply hose, the discharge hose which goes to the garbage disposal so you have enough slack to pull the machine out?? We have the identical dishwasher and has worked perfectly for over 9 years.
That would be something for your specific installation. Mine did not need to come out.
@@benwilliams2260 Thanks Ben. There is another video with the same dishwasher and the person suggests removing the hoses. I will try to do it VERY carefully at fisrt and pay attention to the hoses and wiring.
Very well explained and simple fix for error code FE on my LG dishwasher. I found that my float tray and floats were caked in gunk. Removed, cleaned, and reinstalled in under 30 minutes. Thanks for saving me headache, hassle, and expense.
thank you so much sir . it helped a lot
Thanks man, was going to buy a new pump, You da man!
Thank you sir. I fixed my dishwasher thanks to your CZcams video.
Brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you, it work for me!
Much better than the manual- THANKS!
Thank you for the video! My float was indeed dirty. I cleaned it up and assembled everything back. The dishwasher worked for about 20 min and the FE code showed up again :( any suggestion on what to look at next? Thank you 🙏
If you can pull it out and flip over, the pump is on the bottom. There is a flap that sometimes comes loose in the hose and gets sucked to the pump
Good stuff thanks man!
After trying a few other things, this fixed the problem. Looked like some kid’s science project inside that float assembly piece. So gross that it was kinda cool. Thanks for the video and keeping me from calling a repairman or, worse, buying a new dishwasher.
I really appreciate this. My husband is deployed right now and sent me this video when I was telling him about the issue with our dishwasher. I’m not the most repair-savvy, but I followed this very slowly 😂 and it looks like my dishwasher is happy again!! Thank you so much for making my husband not feel so guilty for being away!
This video is superior to all others... as others have stated it’s a lot more simple than perceived in the video once you give it a try. Fixed my issue in 25 minutes
Thanks Ben, This worked well!
Thanks, this worked for me. The only thing missing was that in order for me to pull out the dishwasher I had to disconnect the electrical wires in the front. There’s a panel held in place with one screw. I turned off the electrical breaker at the panel before working with electricity of course.
Thank you so much!
I'm at a buddy's over mine on a remote island with this problem. I'll give this fix a try let you know tomorrow.
Great video, thanks!
