Another beauty, why does sanding only go up to 400 grit, does it affect the resin if you go too fine a grade?

Amazing work! Love the satin finish on this, I see a lot of people using a high gloss spray and when finished makes the piece look like plastic where as this shows the natural beauty of the wood

Just beautiful, thanku for such a thorough tutorial. Not sure what I'd do when it came to the lathe stage as I don't have one and to be honest they frighten the living daylights out of me lol.
