My 11 year old shih tzu is suffering from anxiety disorder and does excessive scratching on doors. We lost my husband 3 years ago and because of my health problems I've moved in with my granddaughter and her family. At the least little l e sound from outside my room has running to the door and scratching. Music seems to be the only calming remedy. Help!

How could you not mention how much fur they shed? You will be constantly having to collect huge clumps of fur around the house. Your clothes and furniture will be constantly covered in fur and you will spend vast amounts of times vacuming and using lint rollers. The fur they shed is very fine and downy so it does not sweep easily, instead it floats around and sticks to everything like cobwebs. Owning Persian cats is a high maintenance lifestyle but if you can manage the brushing and shedding its so worth their sweet loving cuddles!

She was easy to train, seemed like all she wanted to do was please daddy! So much personality and she loves to talk what we call beagle talk! My lab retriever bites alot even when i try to recorrext her and tries to bite my older shepherd/collie who just runs away. She has lots of toys and I do bedtimes, walks playtime but the biting is bad.

I just got an 8 month old GSD. Discovered by a real estate agent in a basement of an apartment. She’s never been socialized and is finally finding her tribe. She can still be aggressive to people she doesn’t know. How can I get her to show the world what a majestic and loving dog she is? My 11 year old daughter has been wonderful for her, she’s a sucker for good belly rubs from the kid. But beyond that I am struggling to convince other people that she’s simply frightened. My GSD was my best friend. I’d take him with me on road trips throughout the SW. he’d sit in the backseat of my pickup looking out the rear window. I kept it open enough for him to look out. I’d be going down the interstate and horns would honk behind me. Especially female drivers. Couldn’t figure it out until one day I watched in the rear view…Steiner was watching and women would wave at him…he actually flirted with them! He’d cock his head from side to side and make those GSD faces…I laughed so hard I almost wrecked. Einstein passed a few years ago…I miss him every day…❤

I have just brought a half bengal/half tabby as she's adorable

My boy Bauer is the best thing that ever happened to me. I got him right before the pandemic and went through a lot mentally living alone during lockdown. Without him and his kisses and affection, I don’t know if I would’ve made it. I paid to have him trained at this puppy “kindergarten” place 8 hours each day while I was at work, (he came home each night) and also made sure he hung out with kids and other dogs and he is the friendliest, cuddliest GSD you could ever meet! Not a hard breed to own if you go through a reputable breeder who breeds for family dogs and not protection or police dogs and you properly socialize from a young age. I found in my breeder visits that the temperament varies depending on what the breeder is intending to breed them to do (ie police work, guard dog, family dog, therapy dog). My dog came from a breeder who primarily breeds for therapy and family dogs so he’s very chill and affectionate. He currently volunteers at the children’s hospital to cheer up the patients and it’s been a great, uplifting experience for both of us.

My girl definitely eats a lot! Just now cutting her food to 1/3 cup twice a day. She's getting chunky...❤

Tenía un beagle murió en el 2023 con 10 años, recuerdo que era energica cuando pequeña. Lo primero que le enseñamos es sentarse y subirse a la silla donde la bañabamos; era muy sociable desde pequeña (4 meses) además de gustarle correr en el campo y eso que no volvía cuando uno la llamaba uno tenía que atrapar en conjunto 😅hasta que ya fue mayor y no se iba muy lejos ,también aprendió a dar la pata siendo joven adulta. Al tomar fotos en familia tocaba llamar para que viera la cámara eso sí se distraen por los olores; mayoría de fotos es ella olfateando el piso😂❤.

Dont believe him. I am a GSD parent and leaving for more than 6-7 hrs does not affect them in any way !. Trust me i have been with 2 + sheapherds alll my life and this is not true. We still have a good relationship
