According to Niall Ferguson, today's higher education of US has 3 problems. -first freedom of speeches in class, politicize of faculty n strong burocreatic system. First, academic freedom is ensured by sharing different ideas of students which enriches others too even the professors. Academic freedom n control of politicization can be done through legal section of each university. Now, I compare with India's higher education. In Indian universities there is full freedom in classes of colleges n universities. In my country India, many professors engaged in politics but not all. But most professors are very dedicated. Those professors who are benefitted from political parties are prone to politicization within universities. In our universities, there are bureaucratic system but that does not hamper student and professor daily activities. Thanks.

the idea is not new to me, I agree, my shrink agrees etc. but bothers me that when talking about it people alwasy (even if is just one mention) tap in the "and it is even more productive!" reasoning. which is the opposite of not having a goal. cant we just stick with the "because it is good for you" or "it makes you happier" instead of "it will boost your creativity so you can sell it to the system"?
