Gebr. Bruder model 107 fairground organ - The Grange / July 2024
I was very glad to see this organ last weekend, having not heard it for the best part of 10 years when it was located at the old museum in Cotton - it has only just come over to the Grange, in the past few months. Undoubtedly one of the best Bruders in the UK! A bit of a shame I recorded so little footage of it...

Really sounding great here, definitely similar sounding to the late Trager’s 110, makes sense with their common lineage. @@PeterMackett I've never heard Neues Leben either, I know quite a few of the books on this organ desperately need recutting with some not even playable any more so it might fall into that category.

@@MechanicalMusicTravels Last time i was there i looked in the back and there are only a few books with it, there was a small pile in one corner so it may be there as they all looked a bit rough, such a shame as it's a fantastic organ!

The full version always sounds better than the edited version on the old Decca LP.She's playing well too,its just one of its books that needs recutting. Thanks for posting Lucas.

Nice that you've been back to the Thursford collection. Their collection of organs are fantastic! Hope they were all sounding well.

@@HarryYT22 Thanks Harry, it's always nice to be back there after another year. Everything was playing pretty well, more or less the same as last year, although it sounded like the Gondola organ had had some work done to it. Allegedly the two dance organs were back up and running, but I didn't get a chance to hear them!

@@MechanicalMusicTravels that Carl Frei is a stunning instrument. Sounds so well maintained! I quite like those large drum playing ladies at either side in sync with the percussion.
