While I know that this video was satire there are in fact 3d Indie games: El paso elsewhere, post void, Cruelty Squad, Return of the Obra Din, Neon White, Stray, Outer Wilds and the list goes on and on. There even are indie games with good graphics if you count indepentent Triple A/ Triple I Studios like Ninja Theory (before their Acquisition by Microsoft), Remedy, Obsidian Entertainment and many others.

3D gets boring over time, like any kind of visual graphics when there's an oversaturation of it in the market, 2D is difficult to become repetitive, because artists are always developing their own styles,

DID you know Dead Cells actually is 3d? crazy as it may sound, all the character models are 3d models that they put filters and shaders over to make it look like its pixel art. they went through the work to make it 3d, and then chose to "downgrade" it to 2d pixel art. absolutely brilliant

You're SO right! For example in the game celeste, the main character, celeste (I think thats her name right) has like social anxiety or something? Like damn man now I need to look at these awful nes graphics WHILE listening to someone whine about their "feelings". And for some reason people are calling that "one of the best gaming experiences ever" smh my head man.

It's hard to imagine these days how amazing my awareness and reflexes were back when I was a kid. Playing Contra with the other kids waiting for their parents to pick them up was fun and, well, for us it was an easy game. Something about being a very young child barely older than a toddler just let us absorb everything and dominate it. I didn't even know it was famous for its difficulty or had a famous cheat code until a few weeks ago. I looked at some clips of it and can't imagine how the Hell we were crushing it back then.

The only problem I have with the Soulsborne games is losing exp/money on death. Both because it doesn't add any tension as getting it back or grinding for them again is merely annoying, tedious, and _boring,_ and because it directly contradicts the entire theme of getting stronger through death. Yes, that's meant more for learning in order to overcome obstacles, but in that case all losing your souls/blood echoes/runes/money does is slow you down. Same for the often too large health bars of bosses. Many times I've been killed in those games by bosses simply because the fight took so long that I couldn't keep concentrating and started feeling bored. Winning, therefore, often felt like "finally, that's over and I can get back to the game". Not at all what I'm intended to feel by the devs.

Clearly you did not see the full game. After returning to the Whitespace, there is an option that makes you stab yourself. That is the key to continue the game.

I'm new to coding and tbh I want to make both 3d and 2d games but currently I can only do 2d with my art since I'm not good at designing 3d yet. Plus I have never finished a game and I have a budget of 0$ and I ain't gonna have more so it's harder for me to do any of these things. Plus I'm a one man army. No matter how much this video is a joke it brings me down a bit.

Well, i know its a joke but some things are right, many indie game devs just copy stuff straight away without innovating, worst there are those who copy indie games that are also copies, just like in AAA and AA, a few games are greally great, then there is alot of knockoffs, then there is the bad ones. There is a big difference between copying and making something that is part of a genre.
