Everything you need to know to beat Azar in Chrono Ark
With the official release of Chrono Ark 1.0, here's a video guide explaining all the mechanics of the Azar boss fight! Hope this helps new players, returning players, players who want to consume Chrono Ark content, whoever. Info provided is based on Expert Mode on Blood Mist 4 but the video is annotated for Normal Mode as well. I tried to cram the most important details and strategy into 12 minutes of yapping but I'm sure it's not exhaustive - feel free to leave questions in the comments!
Also if you're wondering why some of the footage has me fighting Azar in misty forest with 130 soulstones, it's because I was using the debug mod to collect footage.

Things i learned after watching this video: the purpose of speed about the usefulness of Lifting scroll (im on third loop btw) There were active skill on some equipment (please dont judge me know im little dumb ) Thanks for the Info i'm not a fan of TurnedBased game :) I just played this because of those skills that have animations, Im inlove in this game please do more content bout this game or suggest me some games like this

Azar on expert is really traumatizing. I know his every possible move and still can't beat it normally, managed to do this only once when I accidentally looped my deck with remaining 7 cards in deck total, both moon and sun shard, and infinite lighting draw + basic protection with Ironheart, who was sole survivor on the third phase with 400 shield and shield wave. Other than that, swords are just too suffocating. But in Normal he is basically the same level of difficulty as Forgotten King and gives no problem at all, no matter how you experiment with your parties.
I'm only 30 hours into the game, chrono ark is my first time playing a card game and he traumatized me even in normal mode, maybe I just suck but I can't beat his last phase 😭. I hope this video can help me

As promised, here's all the Ultimate Illusion Sword passives: Forced Recycle: Whenever this Ultimate Illusion Sword casts an attack, discard the top 2 skills in hand and draw 2 skills. Imprison: Target of this Ultimate Illusion Sword cannot act. Seal: Cannot use Lucy skills Heal Block: Target of this Ultimate Illusion Sword cannot be healed. (The target also gets a buff that gives +25% attack and +50% healing power for the duration that Heal Block is active) Countdown: All skills in hand gain 1 Countdown Pain Immunity: All units on this character's side take 1 damage from Pain. Suppress: All Swiftness skills in hand cost 1 more Mana. Tenacity: While this unit is on the field, Azar gains Taunt status and 40% Armor. All other swords also gain 40% Armor. Azar gains Taunt status. When this Illusion Sword is destroyed, remove Azar's Taunt. All units on this character's side (except this unit) gain 40% Armor. Increase Upper Cost: Before this sword is destroyed, all skills above 'Deflect' cost 1 more. This buff does not reappear once it is selected. **Phase 2 only**
I have been greatly struggling with this game. For some reason I just can't seem to beat it (I'm 20 hours in and haven't beaten the Forgotten King) I just can't seem to understand how to build characters at all.

Hey! How's this game compared to Hearthstone if you've played? Love the art so this got my attention.
They're both card-based games that use a mana system, but I think the similarities kinda end there... I would consider deckbuilder roguelikes and digital CCGs pretty different beats

Thank you for this! I ended up getting a choice between two different cards that added Exclude to drawn cards, and the game didn’t have a tooltip for what that meant. This helped :)

Another question for you. Is there a way to tell if a card is rare? I cant seem to find any indicators outside of just memorizing which cards come from things that specifically reward rare cards. Or how to tell what a character's signature move is?(the kind that have a neat animation to go along with)
Rare skills have a red border on the left side of the skill's name. The animations are pretty arbitrary tbh, theyre not really meant to be used as an indicator for how strong or important a skill is

bro why do you have to kill the summons after killing the boss. After so many tries i killed it just for all party members to die from pain before the summon attacked.
Seriously. In every other game, adds die with the boss.

Do you know what determines the characters max card count? As well as what the priority for which cards get removed upon upgrade? In the middle of my first run and 2 characters have 5max and one is up to 8
Technically there is no maximum, there's a minimum though. All investigators start with 5 skills in deck + 1 fixed skill. If you have the option "Forget basic skills automatically" turned on, then learning new skills will automatically forget a basic skill to keep you at the minimum (and not clog up your deck). DPS -> forget basic heals first, then basic attacks Healers -> forget basic attacks first, then basic heals Defenders -> forget basic heals, then basic attacks, then basic protect Also, Blood Mist 2 raises the minimum skills per investigator from 5 to 6.

Looks like this game ain't for me. Confusing torture device.
I picked it up and it's actually not as complicated in practice as it is to hear or read about it. Still up to you biggest brother, but allow me to give you my anecdote with the game so far (2.5 hours) Basically, you're just trying to plan around the enemies turn count. Most of the time you're trying to get them to hit you mid turn so you can heal it right back up. I like this game, the music is great, the story is cool, the character interactions are sweet and the gameplay is fun and scratches that library of ruina sort of itch
It’s actually super easy once you get inside the game and play for yourself. Each character’s playstyle and abilities take like 1-2 minutes of reading to understand
