Speakers Corner promo - Citytv - 1997

"Speakers Corner" ran for years (1990 - 2008) on Toronto television station Citytv. The individual videos would run for 2 minutes -- that's how long you had to talk (or whatever) after you put your "Loonie" (One Canadian Dollar) into the machine -- and would be shown as filler bits, but a 30-minute best-of would be compiled and run every weekend.
A few years ago someone showed me an 'unofficial' VHS tape of not-so-best-of segments. You can imagine the kind of things that were on there, I'm sure.

Jack Nissen was a major contributor to the "radar war" in WW2. This piece was produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1988 for their series "The Best Years". Originally from England, Nissen moved after the war, first to South Africa, then on to settle and start a successful business in Toronto, Canada; he died in 1997.
