Really nice version. I’ve been to at least 10 steely Dan shows since 1994, and screamed, “play Do it Again” at the tops of my lungs many times, until they definitely heard me, but sadly they never played it. I missed a show I had tickets for in west palm beach circa 2001 and go figure they did play it there. Looking forward to seeing some of these musicians at basement east tonight for Jerry Garcia bday celebration. If they play the Dead anywhere close to what is shown here we will be really stoked !! I’ll try not to request Do it Again haha but love listening to it here, I’m on my 4th time. Thanks !!!

This is my favourite cover of the song. The singer finds distaste in melody. There is a sense of triumph in the sound, too which is the essence of the song in my view.

The Byrds did the best version of this Dylan song, the biting vocal, harmonies etc, they did it before anyone else, this is good but basically the Byrds arrangement

Gotta movie clip from YT titled "ROCKER 1972" ? Van Morrison singing in "THEM" was playing this song while a MC was crushed. Was Great. I went down the music rabbit hole that ended here. Really like this. Ima Dead, Dylan, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Post Malone, The Who, Joe Bonamassa, Santana & etc kinda fan.

I absolutely love this video and have watched it so many times! I do enjoy the enthusiasm of the drummer and the cool indifference of the bass player, who looks like a random bloke who just climbed up on stage and picked up the bass 😁

Killer version! but they left out the verse about the vagabond. It is a cover of the Grateful Dead’s version but I like the lead vocal and guitar more here.

To change the drum part is to not appreciate the mastery put into the original by jim hodder and or Porcaro. Not one for one, but the essence of what was done. Sorry man, this doesn't hold up to one of my favorites to jam to. The hat driving the jam was cheap, original played on that ride consistently and built towards the end with subtle complexity, it was a distinct staple. Those drummers then where not married to the hat on the pocket like today.
