    Swear words are in the dictionary, i would never appologise to some one who put my saftey at risk by stepping infront of me, you could bairly see him because he wasnt following basic PPE rules, would you have been DQed for no helmet? If the outcome chainged when you offered video again i would have hammered them on that. Ask them to explain themselves and why the incident was clearly not reported correctly from a race official, maybe they are in the wrong job if they cant be trusted to report accurately on race incidents

    What a pr1ck ! Clearly too important to wear high vis ! He obviously makes the rules, rather than following them. Perfect example of what is wrong in British Cycling. ✊🏼💦

    " Do as i say not as i do!" Too much authority ego with tbat official. He could have officially put riders in hospital. Stand on the side. Use a loud hailer. Use a flag . He wanted to use his body😮

    Yep, he was a muppet. Clearly not taking safety and wellbeing for the riders, he should also apologise.

  • @simon_says_shhh
    @simon_says_shhh Před 23 hodinami

    Stepping into the road during a race that could cause a crash should get you banned from sport and you should cover all bike repair and hospital costs if any. What a c*nt...... If my $12 bike got wrecked i would fit inside him. Officials that do dangerous stuff should face penalty. He is lucky he only cursed at. As a bike messenger I had a few bike to jaywalker events and the pedestrian usually gets hurt. As a crit racer, I saw plenty of fights in the parking lot over wrecked $12k bikes or injiries......As a Commissare they should know better to risk a collision to talk to a rider.

    You swiftly used *effective concise verbal communication* to prevent a nasty accident, well done. Could you have chosen more flowery words to protect their feelings? Maybe. Would it have been as effective? Probably not. At the end of the day you got pushed right by a cyclist and there was a very real possibility of collecting a person standing in the middle of the road, which could have hospitalised one or both of you!

    Question: What's the difference between an incompetent race official and a cycling hooligan who steps in the road, especially on steep uphill sections, and blocks cyclists in the guise of being an actual fan? Answer: Still looking for a difference.

  • @sophie02222
    @sophie02222 Před 2 dny

    Oh man this vid !! Where do you start. First of all you are in need of learning some race craft ! You are not making any attempt to get on to any riders wheels as they come past you at the start of the race .. 3.15 and your race is already over .. you need to be more relaxed whilst racing .. 5.00 in and you nearly take yourself and 2 other riders out by taking them in the inside .. you shouted inside but you would have been better off rolling around the corner then sitting behind them up the hill and then working with them so chill out a bit and don’t ride like a headless chicken! The official was an absolute plank and first of all being in the road and then having the cheek to put a complaint in against you !! I’m pretty sure I know who he is .. but you can’t swear in an event .. someone will make a complaint and also you were doing that thing again .. there was no need for you to be bursting up the road overtaking everyone and shouting as you did it 😂 you have to race more chilled out .. great video though ! You could do with getting used to sitting closer and being more comfortable I’m on another riders wheel .. you make no attempt at any point to sit close behind any rider, you’re permanently in the wind 👍👍

      @jonnyk1195 Před 2 dny

      Haha yep maybe I need a coach. Definitely not my best race but… the camera angle is so wide it does make you look further back than you actually are. I’m abit heavy for this course so was never going to be a great one. Thanks for the advice!

    I hate cyclists with a passion, but he was totally in the wrong whoever he is… regardless. He is stood in the middle of a road during a live race without any kind of hi-viz, or any markings whatsoever. Dangerous, end of story.

    Some day, Britans will "Break the chains of tyranny" and will be permitted to use free speech. I know this is a bit tongue in cheek, bc the cycling federation has rules; but in the heat of the moment, a $10K bike and a trip to the ER, and we're worried about a word. Ego much?

    I think you should have pushed for the hearing in any case. Rank or no, he did not withdraw from out of your path until you told him to. He had no right to be in the road and perhaps should be under investigation himself for endangering the riders by his action. As a senior official he has failed in his duty of care endangering the riders well being. Further I think the investigation should include whether he was attempting to influence the race unfairly because doesn't the positioning impact on season rankings?
