Has anybody taken a sniper at 2.8 joules and tested using lighter than .40 grams with them? I got an ssg10 coming, and im thinking of trying .30s which i use for my gbb pistol and aeg m4. I got 43s, 46s already, but was just wondering if anyone has went south of 40 and liked it?

What I did was calculate my barrel internal gas volume based on length +10mm(to compensate compression and possible vacuum created by lack of gas) .. Then I converted that to the cylinder volume, where I custom cut the port hole starting at that volume. My fps is 400 with a m110 spring and only a 1-2 fps difference per shot.

Not sure why you would run the retro arms without the nub? It’s essential part of the design as listed on the manual

When you have shots that are over hopping then some under hopping that's a sign something is wrong with the hopup arm-nub-bucking and barrel window postion. The nub may not be pressing on the bucking patch the correct way. It may be off centered left-right or forward and backwards.

The engine of the gun whether its GBB/HPA/Spring makes no difference the only way it would be diffenece is if you don't have a good air seal.

50ft = 15m? you should be doing 150ft = 45m that's is the average engagement distance and the max effective distance being 200ft = 60m. Even with a 1 joule gun with .48g you should be able to hit someone 80m away.

Yeah store bought propane and butane in tanks have lots of impurities which can be largely avoided by sourcing gases from industrial gas suppliers.

You can't conclude anything from this. Different brands/quality of bbs, every gun will have a sweet spot or a bb weight/brand that it likes. Equipment and upgrades will all affect this.

Another thing to know about longer barrels is that as you go up and wait the power of your shot goes down because it drops your FPS even more than normally would. I gave you an example. If I were to shoot a 25 and a 36 I have my SR25 they would get about the same power. My interview is 450 mm. However, what I was trying to do was shoot 4 fives out of it and my sr25 currently shoots 1.65 joulrs but on a 45 it will shoot 1.45. I asked you need to take 50 mm more off the inner barrel.for .4's in a sr25 no more than 430mm for maximum performance. For .45 youbwant 400mm . You can even try And m4a1 in a barrel which should be 363 mm. I have an ak-47 length. Inner barrel And before you ask what the diameter barrel I was using, I was using a 6.01 to help with the the cylinder to barrel volume ratio, although it didn't really do a whole lot.

long barrel can cause issue. when you fast shoot your piston can make under pressure when it return to his position

It probably works similarly to a two stroke motor being the port is where the air would come in to the combustion chamber due to the vacuum being created my the piston going backwards that quickly fills the cylinder with air I would also say the barrel length has something to do with it being like the exhaust system in a motor

Wow.... you need to match the volume of your barrel bore against the effective swept volume and mean effective spring pressure to get best efficiency. Who would have guessed!!!?

Suggestion: for people without gun cases you could let them use one of yours so you do t have folks walking around outside with guns

The port on the cylinder is to match volume in the barrel. Too much volume of air will create turbulence as the bb exits the berral. Also, the rate of fire will have an effect on the bb as the piston, even if the head is ported, will draw air from the berral and cause fps inconsistency. All of this was figured out back in the 90s. I'm a little disappointed that this knowledge didn't get passed on.
