While it looks nice, it's very inaccurate with a cat on it, as a cat's normal body temperature typically ranges between 38.1°C and 39.2°C (100.5°F to 102.5°F). However, I believe it could be very helpful when you need to identify an element that heats up significantly more compared to others on the board. Still, without the chance to test it and see if it fits my needs in reality, it's not my top choice.
