I have 8 in base my fiberglass colums r 9 1/4 top cap bottom.base is 11 1/2 in i was wondering could i cut the 8 in caps and base in half and filmin with caulking

I have an 8 in metal column, it is structural holds 20,000 lbs but is hollow....my question is can I install these brackets on it without damaging the strength of column and what kind of screws to use on my metal column? Thank you

Those leveling set screws are a smart idea. Beats the heck out of using shims or washers on uneven surfaces.

Bending those flanges out at the top of the post is a bad idea should you need to remove the sleeve for some reason. Too much friction to move the sleeve the opposite direction. Good luck with that.

It was stripping cause you used a 1/4" masonry drill bit. You should've used a 3/16" drill bit. You're doing a youtube video and you don't even know how to use a tap con bolt.

I thought you're supposed to use a 3/16" masonry drill bit for a 1/4" tap con bolt.
