Bob Evans Farm (Rio Grande, OH) - 1997 Bluegrass band, banjo and guitar competitions

The view isn't great due to obstructions, but if you played in the 1997 bluegrass competitions at Bob Evans Farms in Rio Grande, OH, perhaps you'll see yourself here. When I was a teenager, I had taken a camcorder and filmed some of the day's events. This isn't the complete afternoon, just what would fit on a video. Enjoy.

New Custom Bishline Banjo
zhlédnutí 4,6KPřed 15 lety
Just received my new banjo from Rob Bishline (Tulsa, OK). Sorry about the terrible lighting... I think my little Canon PowerShot SD1000 did a decent job on the audio, though.
All I can think of when I see/hear Earl Scruggs is... "Pearl, Pearl, Pearl, you'll get no love from Earl This here man is such a sap, He won′t hold you on his lap Unless you are an old 5-string banjo"
(the late) Earl Scruggs was the "Eddie Van Halen" of blugrass, such that he re-wrote the book on how the banjo was played.
Would like him to tell the story about Earl that knew everyone
Brings back so many memories of my dad ❤

A Face in the Crowd blew my mind watching Andy Griffith play, song and act like a BOSS!!!!!! 🏆🏆🏆💖
I can't find my comment, if I made one. These folks are legends. They belong in the country music hall of fame.
When America was America.
Very entertaining and enjoyable with perfect harmonies. Thanks for sharing your beautiful music. Following from Sydney Australia.
Very nice?!!!!!
Now we need the Darlins
First time I ever saw Opie’s momma.
Oh how i Love this!!!!!!
I may very well have Andy Griffith and his show to thank for introducing me to bluegrass. I've had a wide influence in music, but as far as I can remember there was no bigger input for this wonderful genre in my formative years (the 70s) than my love for the Andy Griffith Show. Thanks you, Andy, for finding it so important to instill the love of music in your viewers. He wasn't without fault, but I think, at his core, he was an American first and foremost. I owe many of my morals to his show.
Ole Andy n real life was a mean person. So sad. We all think of him as a kind person with a lot of wisdom. But we can’t let show buzz fool us
I doubt he was mean.he and Ron zhoward stayed friends. I believe Ron was a good judge of character.
YOU CAN STOP THE LIE. WAS A GOOD CHRISTIAN MAN.
@@jerryduhon1075 u obviously have not read his biography and I know people that knew him personally do you know anybody who knew him personally I do you can’t go by his persona as a TV personality that he portrayed on Andy Griffith actors are actors and what they do real life is completely differentI’m sorry for your delusional thoughts on this man
I wondered why they were putting out such a very low stool. I would never be able to get that low to sit. but it was to put his foot on lol!
And a younger Bro Marty Stuart
This is reminiscent of when Denver Pyle had with Andy the musicians in the Andy Griffith show. But this finally recognition given to Earl Scruggs is tops!
That was The Dillards on that show.
Thank You for sharing this!
Priceless !! Marty Stewart my fav !!
that was the dirtiest joke Andy ever told
I just loved Andy so much. ❤❤great actor and singer. Him and Barney made a perfect pair for laughs on that show.
Talent now is found at your local Walmart with the help of PitchControl app.
LOVE this.💖💖💖💖💖💖🐎👢👢🐎
Oh who can’t do that!
Andy Griffith had a degree in music.
Even as good as Marty Stewart was, when he was on the stage with one of the old greats he still got that look of wonderment on his face like he was thinking 'I can't believe I'm standing up here with this legend.'
Where are The Darlins?..
Awwww LOVE ME SOME ANDY GRIFFITH❤❤❤❤

I love Earl Shrugs! He has been a favorite of mine for many years. When he and Lester Flat played together, they were the best in country music! They are 2 country greats that will never be forgotten!

First time I ever heard Andy sing and play.
Marty Stuart is a toad!
Love Andy Griffin❤
Flatt&Scruggs should have been The Andy Griffith show, like they were on the Beverly Hillbillies.
