  • @TediumGenius

    I can't wait to get on a few of these! (Nice Lathe by the way! Envy...) I have kits and some scraps for small turns like drawer knobs for small trinket boxes, but my Son just helped me out by taking down a small ornamental that is colored like cedar, and I kept a few cutoffs from that thing that measure about 4" in diameter; I figure that'll be a great use for that piece of wood, if only to try it out! I had the spinning / string technique all wrong in my head! Now that you showed it, I remember seeing it once on TV a long time ago! Makes me think of turning Yo-Yos too.... Great video!

      Thank you for your wonderful comment and enthusiasm! I'm thrilled that you found the video inspiring and enjoyable. Oh, and speaking of new projects, if you're interested, I recently posted a video about Yo-Yos on my channel. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out: czcams.com/video/N1GwYLV7m3Y/video.html. For the dry sink, I'd recommend a two-part video. One with an introduction and the towel rack, the other with the drawer. I feel like that approach (intro and rack then drawer) will keep the two videos close to the same length. Also, there will be viewers interested in only a curved front drawer, as the rack is a niche item. The niche is all bandsaw, so the bandsaw people will appreciate that on its own, especially if you've got an interesting approach to copying, layout, and any jigs involved. My two cents! I like your wedgie sled!

    • @SawdustSolutionswithBuck
      @SawdustSolutionswithBuck Před měsícem

      Thank you very much for your insightful comment! It seems like great minds think alike because my wife and I were just discussing the idea of splitting the dry sink project into two parts. I completely agree with your suggestion, and I think your 'two cents' is spot on. As for the wedgie sled, I'm glad you like it! Safety and flexibility were definitely top priorities for me, and it took a few revisions to get it just right. Thanks again for your input and for being a part of this woodworking journey!
