I NEGOTIATED for a NEW TRUCK & this HAPPENED #cars #carprice #truck #truckmania #ford #negotiation
This is Ron knows stuff. I went to buy a new truck and this is what happened. I am not a used car dealer or a new car dealer. I am a fleet buyer and buy about 100 truck and cars a year. I use those experiences to know when, it’s time to buy something new. Join me on this journey of buying a new truck and getting a great deal. I will show you what to look for, what to avoid, and when to ask for a bigger discount. New truck shopping is not fun but with patience, it can be rewarding, take your time do you research, and be prepared to say no. We said no to two dealers before we got to the yes. We were prepared to walk. we were prepared to buy a different brand. Buying at the end of the month should give you a better price, but knowing what incentives are available, will guarantee it. It is better to go in person than over the phone or online because the dealers want to see, you are serious and ready to buy today. In negotiations, the person who says the price first loses. be honest in your dealings, but don’t volunteer too much information too soon. Again be prepared to walk. I recommend searching for dealerships within 100 miles of you. Look at their inventory online and confirm they have it in stock. You can even set an appointment. Let them know you are shopping other dealerships and really looking for the best out the door price. Don’t get caught up in how they get to the out the door price, you just want to know the best out the door price. The bottom line matters and nothing else. Good luck and good shopping from Ron Knows Stuff. remember to like and subscribe. Coco says hi. #f150 #f150stx

So he basically bought a used truck and they helped because the sold the other one.
The dealerships were an hour apart from each other. I was considering a used one and a brand new one. Since the used one was sold, I went to the new truck dealership and bought that one. It was a better deal anyway and was optioned the way I preferred. The build date on it 3/2024. The miles on it were 850, never titled so the warranty starts at 850 miles and 8/25/24. Hope that helps. We have over 2200 miles on it and are loving it.
@RonKnowsStuff awesome worked in your favor. The YT was just a bit misleading as if there is a tactic to get 25% off. We're looking now and dealers are bloated ND back lots are full. Above msrp and markups are now gone but they are still sticking to MSRP and add ons. We're considering an order to avoid evwrything...
@@user-ni7iz7zl4k they are starting to deal here in Florida. Look for a “courtesy vehicle” that’s where the biggest discount came from and why it had 850 miles on it. I researched all the rebates available and did my spreadsheet before going in. I took the higher interest rate to get a bigger rebate. I’ve saved for this purchase so will pay it off once the first bill comes. Costs $56 in loan interest to get a $3500 rebate.
Lol better than a 5.0, your funny😅
Thanks for watching!
How much was the mower, and what brand?
It was used $3,000 Hustler TrimStar 48”. It has a Kawasaki engine and they last forever!
Love my F150 2.7 ifs great on fuel and great power. I used this for my daily driver . Go Ford.
My research shows it is one of their more reliable engines. Glad to hear a first hand experience!! Thanks!
Doesn’t this stuff have to be heat activated?
Not really - when I used it on the rubber trim it worked great too
Fords are just uglyyyyy
I think Ram makes the nicest looking but I fear their lack of quality. Ford is my happy medium.

Right on! She’s snacking on kibble now and says THANKS!!!
Maybe im confused but I don’t see any discounts. Looks like you paid asking price.
Truck is MSRP $48,225. We paid taxes and everything $34,100. We did trade in a 2017 Kia Sportage LX with 102,000 miles worth about $6500.
@@RonKnowsStuff so you paid 40,600 for a previous year model truck that was used as a loaner.
@@svtnick5412 the truck was built March 2024. It is a 2024 F150 STX. It was a loner with only 850 miles on it the outdoor price of $34,100 includes all taxes fees and trade-in. Kelley Blue Book shows trade-in value at $6500. I hope that helps.
4x4?
4x2 - I didn’t want the added expense and wouldn’t need it for my use
It’s illegal for them to require maintenance by certified mechanics vice DIY to keep a warranty in tact.
I tend to agree with that but I don’t want them to have an excuse not to cover any issues that may appear. I will keep you posted on any issues- so far none but we’ve only put 1,000 miles on it.
No it’s not legal. There is what is called the right to repair act. The dealer does not need to do the maintenance , you can do it your self if you want. You just need to save your receipts, In case something happens, and you need warranty work done. The dealer does need to do the warranty repairs.
Whenever I call a dealer about a vehicle I’m interested, more times than not they say that it’s just been sold. Same with friends. I’m starting to think they just do a bait and switch and nothing they say is on the up and up. That’s my gut feeling as its laughable at how often that happens.
I agree! Just get them in and we’ll sell them what WE want not what they want - seems to be the attitude. Problem is they aren’t good sales people and don’t understand match talk (a basic sales technique).
Live in Florida too, what dealership, all i come across is crooks, um willing to travel for a deal.
In Central Florida. Look at Key Scales Ford. Mullinax is usually pretty good too. Let me know if I can help - my email address is on my CZcams page
Insurance goes up $48 for the 2024
Where did you get the tire warranty? Like even if they dont install it thy can give you a warranty
Discount Tire is the chain I went to. Just call around if you don’t have one near you. Truck comes with a full sized spare so I can bring it in if traveling
How much was the extended warranty?
$2100 - with all the electronics, I felt it was worth it. Normally, I don’t buy them
@@RonKnowsStuff I’m sorry if you told. I watched I promise lol. What’s the terms? Mileage and time. Thanks alot
Bumper to bumper 10yrs or 120,000 miles and lifetime power train. The cost was actually $2500 according to Mrs. RKS. Thanks for watching !
@@RonKnowsStuff wow that’s pretty good then. I definitely think that will pay for itself.
You’re too funny!!!! 😂
I’d like to think I’m practical
You may of said but I didn’t hear what interest rate you paying through ford and for how long ? Thanks
8.49% for 48 months got the biggest rebate. I would refinance with my local lender if we hadn’t saved enough to pay it off when the first payment comes due. $54 of interest saved us thousands. If paying off or bank finance rates weren’t favorable, lessen the rebate will get a better rate from Ford. We wanted the best OTD price so interest rate didn’t play into it.
8.5?!?! Buddy……why??? Woof
@@georgewashington7574 to get the full rebate. I saved up so I’m paying cash for the entire purchase. I financed $5000 just to get the rebates.

Very bad deal, 37k for used truck v6.
We paid$34,100 for a new 2024 F150 STX Crewca after we traded a 2017 Kia Sportage LX with 102,000 miles. The truck was used as a loaner and had 850 miles on it. The truck was never titled so the warranty starts when it was sold to us. Hope that helps.
Better than a 3.5 LOL
That’s what I read too
Your right the 2.7 ecoboost is the best engine. It's made out of an iron block.
I did a lot of research before I settled on this one to buy. Thanks for confirming!
Never been a fan of turbo and how they overwork the engine. However in today’s world where the options for a reliable vehicle with V8 are disappearing this specific model seems like the best option.
@@justinbadalamento1082 it’s like you read my mind!!! Now. Let’s go spin some donuts!
It was a good choice until 2018 when they put a rubber belt to drive the oil pump in it.
@@UpracefanThe newer Fords and GMs are great vehicles if you get rid of them before 100k miles.
48k for a half ton truck 😂😂😂😂 I don't think so
Honestly, with all the features it has, I can understand the price BUT I would never pay MSRP for a truck nor should anyone else. I got a great deal on a great truck!
@@RonKnowsStufftodays market is just insane. I find to get these deals you have to be okay with walking away and talking 10 plus dealerships. the best deals are when you go into with a passive attitude of I take it or leave it and just say I’m about the outdoor price. And I’m unwilling to pay for the add ons.
@@justinbadalamento1082 you got it!!
These stories are in a million if this is real.
It is a factual purchase and all the numbers are there except the $2000 I paid for the extended warranty that covers all the electronics and non-drivetrain components. I’ve already put 150 miles on the truck and love it. We are about to take it on the first road trip. You have to look for the “courtesy vehicle” rebates and discounts. The dealership had another one with the similar deal.
They are rare but this was a loaner according to Ron so if that’s true all dealerships will probably sell one or two of these a year before it is 1000 miles. @RonKnowsStuff how long did it take to find this type deal?
@@justinbadalamento1082 actually not long. I did a search on each Ford dealership’s site within a 50 mile radius of my home and my kids homes. It was one of the first deals I saw!

That seems to be a common practice
Stick? I didn’t know they still did that
I was wondering if anyone caught that. Words are hard sometimes- it is the tried and true 6 speed automatic - wouldn’t that be great if they still made a manual transmission? I learned to drive on a 1966 Chevy with three on the tree!

Will you do a review of the vehicle itself and how it performs overall? Normally a Toyota guy but thinking about a full size truck Ford seems like you can get a better out the door price.
Good idea. I haven’t bought a domestic brand in twenty years so I’m quite excited about it
Trucks were never meant to cost $65K.
Agreed! The STX package retails at $48,225. There is a lot of features to enjoy and it is FAST
I have been looking at 2024 F-150s. I drive a paid off 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat. You kind of talked me out of it. The only way I would do it is if I paid cash. The interest rates are a deterrent. I don’t think I want to part with that much cash for a depreciating asset.
@@joyofnft8084 the interest rate is stupid. We accepted it to get all rebates. We have the money to pay it off when the first payment comes due. Calculations show $57 of interest to get $3500 off. Definitely keep what you have if its paid off

With only 850 miles, I didn’t smell any that weren’t my own brand. I don’t like car payments so I don’t lease. I make “payments” to a savings account and when I have enough saved, I buy something- usually used but this was a deal too good to pass up! Thanks for watching!!!

I'll tell you what else has changed -- pricing! $48,000 for a Ford pickup and it isn't even a King Ranch!
@@HarryHackney The STX package has everything we wanted but heated seats. It is nicely equipped AND will do the 1/4mile in 13.6 seconds while averaging 19.4mpg which should improve once broken in. There is a lot of tech in this beast and based on others, is a good value
@@RonKnowsStuff I get all that.
