    Respectfully, I did not know people own them to use. I saw a person on a private wave and thought it was dumb. I just rented one and it was honestly a very fun boat that I enjoyed. I live in a community where basically everyone are rich. My sailing beach is coverd in hobie 26 17 18 tigers and tornados so I never thought someone would buy a wave. It’s honestly a great little boat. The only problem for me is how often it bow plows because of how low it sits. great video!

    The sail won't 'womp' (nice tribute to "Wind," btw) if you tighten the sheet to center as you gybe. Gybing is scary only if you neglect to handle the main. The womp becomes a snap of the battens, and then you release the sheet to your new point of sail.

    I like the explanations in layman’s terms. How strong was the wind? I owned a Wave and I bought a crazy cheap Getaway on Facebook. I sold the Wave mainly because it didn’t have wings. I trailer the boat and the Wave was definitely easier to rig and sail.

    • @upnorthguy
      @upnorthguy Před 20 dny

      I do try to keep the explanations simple and focus on what to do not what it’s called in sailing terms. Wind was about 6-7 mph which is good for the audio and filming. Thanks for the comment!😊

    Do you have a link for the carbineer parts you are using for the bridle hooks? I think mine are pins. I had a hard time hooking in the forestay, and had to move the shroud pins up to get enough slack to hook the forestay. Seems like that would be easier with the beeners rather than trying to get a clevis pin and ring in. Also comment on what ring from top or bottom you are attaching for forestay, bridle hooks and the side shrouds if you would. Tks!

    • @upnorthguy
      @upnorthguy Před měsícem

      Hi! I don’t know where the bridle hooks came from, they were there when I bought it and per the prior owner they were an upgrade. It is definitely easier to attach the bridle with them. I think any similar size carabiner could work. Nothing special about the rings I am using, they are basic sailboat hardware.

    You used the wrong bolts that is why you needed to pile on washers. Also why not drill two extra holes on each pillars for the correct height to clear the cab and still low enough for garage fit? Seems like an easy task…

    • @upnorthguy
      @upnorthguy Před měsícem

      The smaller bolts won't work with the cleats that's why I had to use the larger ones. I switch between the cleats and the rack on the same set of bolts. Good suggestion to lower the rack! Thanks!

    As far as the bag, I think I'd take the nuts off from around that chute opening and see if I couldn't wrap some baling wire or something around those bolts, then re-install the nuts over it, forming the wire into some rounded hooks to help hold the bag without making holes in the bag. Either that or put some steel grommets in the bag end and use the hooks through those.

    Hmmm, I always just mulch up my leaves in the fall by mowing them repeatedly with the riding mower until they're shredded down fine enough to look like part of the soil. I do get a lot of brush and limbs in the yard about every time we have a good thunderstorm though. Might have to pick one of these up instead of having the big bonfire every fall from the brush pile.

    Just finished installing one of these, glad they decided to add a middle height, so now 18/23/28 inches in height. For my Silverado, 23" is the perfect height, just clears the top of the cab and I can fold my Bakflip all the way to the back window. Only issue I had, was I used the thin seal on my Bakflip, which made re-installing it a little too tight, had to remove the seal(didn't have it in the first place). Also, another thing to note, since you're setting your Tonneau cover on top of the TS rails, like in my case, the tailgate seal on the Bakflip is not flush anymore, leaves about a 3/16" gap.. :( need find a way to seal that part..

      Mine is 2021 model year, it does have easy connect for the hydraulic lines. I never take my loader off however so I don’t use them.

    Does it have a locking feature where you need a key? Or can anyone just walk over and open it?

      Yes it has a lock that has a key. If not locked anyone can get in.
