Yoo i remember growing up with this song on the radio, but only now can i fully appreciate it, especially because the radio version didnt include the rap part (from what i can remember) which goes so hard! Watching the video and understanding the actual lyrics adds layers to the song for sure, newfound appreciation for this tune

It still amazes me why this dude still isn’t a huge name in music outside of the UK (where he’s from). He should be as big of a name as Adele is here in the states. I was just 11 years old at the time when this album first came out (his first album came out when I was like 7). If I had heard this song for the first time, my 11 year old mind would have been blown. Thing was, because he didn’t break through the US music market, I don’t think many of us would have paid attention to this dude then than now. However, I think I would have paid attention back then if I stumbled upon it online. Apparently, Plan B (or B, should I say, for short) was actually at one point going to make this album into a movie-he had actually I think planned this from the start-and it got VERY close to being made…then for whatever reason, it didn’t get made. It’s kinda sad that it didn’t get made. I must say though, his speaking/rapping voice is very different to his singing voice (speaking/rapping voice is somewhat low, husky, and kind of gruff ish, singing voice is relatively high and clean). It can be jarring to hear it for the first time, if you don’t know anything about this dude. The singing voice also kind of clashes with his appearance. He was I think at one point in the British press compared to Eminem, although I would more say that he is closer to being the UK’s equivalent of Machine Gun Kelly in terms of the quality of his material and genre spanning works (he in fact wanted to do a reggae and punk rock album at some point, and I don’t know if those are still happening).
